I may be kinda half asleep, but this thought hit me whilst I looked at my rebel minis in the cube at work: what is what squadron wise?
Squadrons....whats left?

I think you may be more than half asleep. Rephrase, please!
I think they mean which squads haven't been made yet. Maybe.
I believe that all of the iconic Starfighters from Old and Popular have basically been covered...
Are there still fighters to be covered? Sure, if you look at X-Wing for a precedence in that matter (which, honestly, we may or may not, given the different states of the game)....
But most, if not all of the iconic Starfighters, post-Prequels, are now covered and done... Everything else is mostly obscure Legends Lore (I mean, the K-Wing is Popular, but I never read a story with it in it, so it was new to me... Which is what I consider a cornerstone of iconic)...
Just look at x-wing and ask yourself what is not in Armada.
Star wing assault gunboats!
Star wing assault gunboats!
Would be great if we got them before X-Wing just to rub it in their face for daring to get their products so quickly compared to armada!
Clone Wars squadrons... And ships. That is all. Read Sig for further details.

Well, a good reason for ffg to give armada the star wing would be to supplement the bomber variety on the imperial side. So far the only true bombers are the tie bomber and firespray
If there is one thing that the empire doesn't need, it's even more bombing utility.

TIE Punisher confirmed
Rebel/New Republic fighters from Canon/EU still available include the H-Wing, H-60 Tempest, R-41 Starchaser, T-Wing, K-Wing, Defender-Class, A-9 Vigilance and HLAF-500. I'm sure at some point we'll also get the ARC-170.
And my point was, you have given all of those above....
... But I only know of the ARC-170 by name, from watching The Clone Wars and Ep III...... The others are all just... Words.. I mean, I also know the K-Wing because of X-Wings Marketing, but as stated, I otherwise know nothing about them...
None of them, wit the possible exception of the Arc, are iconic enough to be included anytime soon... I mean, how many of them are just going to slip into legends obscurity anyway?
Depends on FFG of course. I never would have figured the TIE Punisher would ever have entered X-Wing, personally, but they added it anyway. The main problem though is that several of those designs (H-60, K-Wing, H-Wing and Starchaser) are all bombers. I like bombers, but how many bomber designs can we add that are different enough from each other?
Originally i thought the Defender-Class would have been a great cheap fighter for the rebel alliance because i figured if the Z-95 Headhunter was ever added, it would be a scum-type or multi-faction design. Oh well, i guessed wrong there. ![]()
At this point anything on-screen seems like a shoe-in.
So, from Rogue One we know about a U-Wing for the Rebels and a new shuttle for the Imps. In Rebels, they just started using a Separatist shuttle.
I would continue to expect new products to come from new-canon sources.
I agree that with all of the generally agreeable iconic star fighters already done... give me more uniques! I understand that this does little to satisfy people wanting of new models... but there are so many iconic names that can be done. I would buy boosters with nothing but cards in a heart beat. They got to be cheap to make too. Seems like an easy opportunity.
Janson, Hobbie, Dak... so many names. Hell, I'd say do the whole rogue squadron. You could do "veteran" of every squadron type. Make it unique but with a max limit. Essentially allowing 2 or 3 of veteran squadrons in a single fleet.
I'd even go so far as to say do repeats! The Falcon with Lando or just a new iteration with "General" Solo.
How much would you pay for a booster pack of 10 cards? $10? Seems steep but I'd pay it.
In a similar vain I wish they added more ship variants. The models are there... just add more variants!
I may not be giving them enough credit, but I really wonder about the viability of T-70s, F/Os, and /SFs at the Armada scale. Do you just end up with card expansions that can be used with your existing TIE Fighter and X-Wing models? Because those things are tiny, and the differences at larger size are still pretty subtle so...
We could probably get some more rogue and villan types.
None of them, wit the possible exception of the Arc, are iconic enough to be included anytime soon... I mean, how many of them are just going to slip into legends obscurity anyway?
But we seem to be getting the TIE Defender and TIE Phantom anyways.
And the E-Wing
But what's done is what's done... The future, we must look at, now.
That's also my hope.None of them, wit the possible exception of the Arc, are iconic enough to be included anytime soon... I mean, how many of them are just going to slip into legends obscurity anyway?
But we seem to be getting the TIE Defender and TIE Phantom anyways.
TIE Defender is canon. The Phantom remains merely a legend.
The Phantom remains merely a legend.
That's because its a shifty bastard.
I think the TIE Striker, ARC and U-Wing are strong possibilities in the future. TIE Advanced Prototype maybe.
Also the B-wing prototype
At this point, the most likely things are going to be pilots from all the films and Rebels, plus any ship or squadron that shows up in Rebels or any new film post-Disney. There is also a strong liklihood that we'll see any ship or squadron that has a design approved for the new Star Wars Marvel comic books.
Basically, anything with a Disney-approved physical appearance.
I think that the E-Wing and TIE-Phantom may end up being the last squadrons added to have been wholly created for a pre-Disney property that wasn't a film, Clone Wars, or Shadows of the Empire. Phantoms, or course, having been created for the game Rebel Assault 2 and E-Wings having been created for the Dark Empire comic book.
