E-Wing: · Etahn A'baht (32)

Push The Limit (3)

Fire Control System (2)

· R5-P9 (3)

Just a question. Would etahn change a hit to a crit on a snap shot or is that still considered modifying? It clearly says "you" cannot modify not "your roll cannot be modified".....

That is a good question. The language is essentially the same as R7 astromech. Ruling was that R7 did not work on Omega Leader. Precedent would imply that Etahn would work snapshot. But like I said, good question.

I would think changing a hit to a crit is a die modification.

Etahn verbatim lets the attacker change the die, the Snap Shot attacker cannot modify, ergo Etahn does not work.

(If Etahn's language was "you" instead of "the attacker", he would work.)

I would think changing a hit to a crit is a die modification.

That's not what's at stake, it's WHO is doing the modification. Unfortunately, Etahn specifies that it is "the attacker" doing the modification, he does not work with snap shot. He would if instead of "the attacker" the text said "you".

When Davish Krail is released as a new Y-Wing pilot that's exactly what his ability will say

Just so they can give that list the perfect name

Has this been said yet?

I'll say it again

R7 Astromech:

Once per round when defending, if you have a target lock on the attacker, you may spend the target lock to choose any or all attack dice. The attacker must reroll the chosen dice.

Current FAQ says that a ship that is locked by Omega Leader cannot force Omega Leader to reroll dice.

Etahn:

When an enemy ship inside your firing arc at Range 1-3 is defending, the attacker may change 1 of its [h] results to a [c] result.

I see nothing different here at all. According to the language, it does not make sense. But if they are consistent to previous rulings, Etahn will work with Snapshot. Etahn causes the reroll so it works.

Edit: I believe Etahn's ability is worded in such a way that it will work in Team Epic.

I admit that this is ambiguous (and I've been using the R7 ruling to argue that M9-G8 works, so I hope that ruling holds).

If there's a difference then it may be between "may" and "must."

Etahn says the attacker "may" change the result of the die roll. The ultimate agency for the decision lies with the attacker.

R7 says the enemy ship "must" reroll the dice selected by the ship with R7. The agency lies with the ship with R7.

Perhaps again it may not be the most helpful to think of the ship manipulating dice as the one modifying, but rather the ship that chooses which dice to modify.
