I've got a bad feeling about this...

Everybody had nearly every rumor and theory and 'fact' about Episode 7 ALL WRONG as it turned out. Almost all the chit chat leading up was BS.

Really? I know it was like that in the early stages, with the hand floating through space etc (although, turns out that was considered). But by the time I saw the movie I honestly knew 75-80% of the film, certainly the main story beats. Of course I didn't know if they were accurate, but turned out they were. Depends on your sources I guess.

I just hope that at no point in any future movies, shows, etc, Disney decides to ruin Boba Fett, Tarkin, or Thrawn.

Lucasfilm. I wonder how many films in we need to be before this gets through to people. You never hear about "Disney are ruining the Avengers" - it's all (rightly so) Marvel. Same with Star Wars - it's Lucasfilm's property and their decisions.

And before anyone starts on about "So why was 40% of Rogue One reshot then?" - it almost certainly wasn't. That whole story was completely over exaggerated.

After reading and hearing what other people had to say about TFA, I didn't bother watching it, just like I didn't bother watching 2 or 3 because I hated Epicsuck One so very much.

TFA is not a bad film. It's got issues, although that's not really out of character for a Star Wars film, even ANH has so oddities. So I do encourage watching it, just go in knowing that this is a shinier version of a very cherry picked original trilogy, and expect characters to act like complete idiots to suit the (thin) plot.

Rent it, don't buy it.

Better yet, borrow it.

To be fair it emulated the old material pretty well, just it had clear casting issues, like they were going to kill off Poe, but didn't hence that wierd thing where he disappears only to remerge a epic badass towards the end of the movie. Or the stupidly heavy focus on Luke in the dialogue compared to, you know, the possibility of a god **** superweapon? It was rough around the edges if enjoyable.

All this article says is a cinematographer needed to understand the directors' intents and visions and direction.

I don't know where this turns into Alien 3 and they're Fing up our franchise and oh my god what the hell are these idiots doing.

"Breaking rules" can mean 1000 things because there are certain conventions several of the films have.

I think everyone should take 50 steps away from the ledge at this point. It's click-bait.

"Breaking rules" can be as simple as this entry not being a big "Fight The Bad Guys" movie and, instead, be a heist caper.

Well, whattaya know...?
