Snap Wexley, Pattern Analyzer, and Substep B!

Not quite. I'm saying it is still very much integral to establishing Maneuver==1 or else the card would read "Skip 2b."

No single step in the process is integral to the process as a whole. And again... And for the final time doesn't say skip 2b, it says to move step 2b to after step 3, meaning it is no longer part of the step 2 process.

I frankly can not put it any more simply than that, and I'm not going to bother trying.

I think you might be guilty of that if you wish to skip 2b entirely with PA.

Really? So you haven't read a single one of my posts where I list Check Pilot Stress as Step 3a?

Ive read all your posts. And they've only convinced me of one thing: Pattern Analyzer needs a FAQ.

No single step in the process is integral to the process as a whole.

Except for Step 2c, right? According to your logic, Step 2c fulfills the Triggered Free Action even if Step 2b hasn't been met yet.

According to your logic, Step 2c fulfills the Triggered Free Action even if Step 2b hasn't been met yet.

Wow... I just don't know how else to say it.

There is no step 2c, there is now due to PA only two substeps for 2, a. move the ship, b. clean up. Once those two things have been done, the perform maneuver process has been completed, and anything triggered by that happens then. Check pilot stress is now step 3a...

I quite frankly can't see how this can be that hard to understand.

It's actually hard to understand but not like you imagine (me being stupid, that is)... It's hard to imagine this wasn't avoided (with text) factoring in that PA and Snap are in the same expak.

"I'm going to Free Boost before Snap received stress..."

[have you completed the three required substeps for the trigger?]

"I dont have to, PA moves one of the substeps to Step 3 (Actions)."

[does PA tell you to resolve that substep later?]

"Yes."

[Have you?]

"No, not yet."

The fact that you're trying to dismiss this as me as trolling instead of trying to discuss why I don't think just moving a substep makes it no longer part of its parent step means I'm done here. Hopefully this is FAQ'd, because I have seen arguments for both sides ever since pattern analyzer was revealed. It's ambiguous.

I'm leaving now.

Thanks for trying. I appreciate your contributions.

<snip> Pattern Analyzer needs a FAQ.

FAQ = Frequently Asked Questions.

Except... it's not being asked frequently. Only by you. One != frequently.

Sometimes, you have to admit that you're the problem.

Fark me. Six pages and this merry-go-round is still going... I want to get off!

I'm glad I never got on to start with.
