TIE Punisher title

The idea of ignoring the TL restriction (i.e treating Attack:[Target Lock] header as Attack: ) is a good one, and definitely gives you a reason to take low PS generics over say a Gamma Vet

I'm not so sure about multiple ordnance shots per round though - unless the upgrade that allows this is either Unique, puts the cost of a reasonable loadout at 34 points+, or applies some other kind of penalty we'll just end up in Triple Jump alpha strike territory all over again.

Other options might be to give it a Gunner / IGB style trigger - so you only get a second shot if the first attack misses.

If it was a title instead of a system mod you could combine some relatively low powered ordnance like Flechettes with FCS and a heavy hitting missile or Torp - "Deliberately" miss the first shot with flechettes, stress the target, cue up a TL and follow up with a Target Locked (and possibly focused as well) Homing Missile

Nasty - but 34 points for a PS4 with EM (assuming 0 point title) so you cant run 3 of them.

Advanced Warhead Guidance

System Upgrade

You must equip an extra munitions upgrade.

Decrease its squad point cost to zero.

When attacking with a [missile] or [torpedo] secondary weapon,

the defender rolls two fewer defense dice.

Competes with FCS so not an auto-include. Does not compete with Long Range Sensors or Guidance Chimps. Wording is intentional so that obstructed attacks against low agility targets do not allow any green dice. Makes the Homing Missile Punisher an Ace Hunter. Autothrusters and Palp can only help so much when you are rolling 1 or 2 green dice.

Side-effects if not made Punisher only:

1. U-wings (and B-wings if you nutty) could carry Sabine and get a second bomb for free.

2. Ghosts could make potent torpedo carriers. Probably too good.

You've hit the nail on the head. The issue with ordnance isn't the amount you can take but the action requirements which restrict how much you can use it. Not so sure on a negative cost for this though. It is very powerful even with just the target lock changes (even better than Deadeye) and on top of that allows you to attack twice!

My thoughts behind it was to give the punisher "free" extra munitions. I wanted the punisher to feel free to use boost instead of having to TL and still fire but can only fire once like that BUT if it does TL instead of boost it gets to reward itself by being able to fire twice. This also allows redline to be able to mod his cluster missiles like he use to (but unable to fire twice unless he gets another Tl from another source) as well as gives dearain the ability to fire something and still drop a bomb. Maybe 0 pts would be better? But all in all i think it is a very simplistic way to keep the punisher as a dcent choice but not over shadow the Tie bomber. Also keep in mind that changing the Tl header to ' ATTACK (TARGET LOCK): ' header as ' ATTACK: '. you STILL have to spend a TL if the card requires you too which the next line lets you skip once a turn

No problem with the proposed target lock changes... just that this in combo with a second attack and a negative cost it would make them too powerful. People moan about TIE/x7 and that does a lot less.

Yeah it is a lot closer to the tied title in that regard, 0 pts would be better. I don't think they would be to powerful even with the pts decrease since it is overcost like the defender. But if the systems wasn't punisher only then no way it would be -2, that's the only reason the x7 has a negative pts cost

Maybe the Punisher fix will come with the Missile Boat
