So I have an AoR game that is starting some point after Xmas. Want to make a sneaky/Stabby type character. so far I have built about 10 different ones on OggDudes Generator and cannot settle on one so I am opening it up here.

tl:Dr help me build a Rogue/jedi.

things I have decided so far.

Race:- Leaning towards chiss.

Specs:- Want to be a LS user also needs to be sneaky. Thinking Shadow/Shien.

Equipment:- Want in the long run a saber staff crystal will depend on GM.

Background:- Short version is Corscant Street rat "trained" by a former padawan who escaped order 66. Padawan dies getting her to the rebellion pregame.

Shadow, a 4 in Cunning it's the core of the character, 3 in Brawn for Athletics and also Lightsaber and Brawl. Influence basic power. Use Well Rounded to get at least a single combat skill as a career skill, Lightsaber or Brawl, then the other for a thematic skill. Focus on one force power and getting to the Force Rating talent without needing to have a second specialisation.

I agree with the Shadow spec, maybe include Sentry and Shien and/or Soresu.

Chiss ain't street rats on coruscant. Coming from the unknown regions and all.

Now I don't want to discourage you if you are aware of the problems with your character concept, but the Chiss are on of those species which need special circumstances to appear in the civilized galaxies and they are in the grand picture of the galaxy a more or less unknown species as they are from the unknown regions. The Chiss description mentioned those problems too iirc.

Besides that, yeah Shadow, Though Niam, Shien, Makshi and Soresu should all work just fine even form 5 seems like an option, just don't pick Shii-Cho

Mind you telling the story of an abandoned Chiss, the only one in Trillions of inhabitants, could be an interesting story. But if your not going to utilise it and want to play a character that just blends into the crowd then I agree Chiss may not be the best option in terms of a story.

I would go with Sentry over Shein if sneaking and rogue behavior is the goal. However that route does mean you have to either A. Take a few talents of Shein to use Cunning or focus on Brawl some.

Also while Shadow is the obvious route ...... Investigator is growing on me.

This is something I am highlighting in my back story. The character is an orphan and the last survivor of a small chiss colony that was hidden within Corscants Invisec as an ancient holdover from SWTOR era. I would really love to explore it further but I doubt the GM will wish to focus on it.

The final paragraph of the background is of her being dragged away by the rebellion as her mentor the ex padawan is stopping the empire following. This has been written SPECIFICALLY so that she can be dropped into whatever AoR story he is working on.
