enforcer PC took down a mamma Krayt Dragon with the streetwise skill

By EliasWindrider, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

knowing that the big Mamma krayt dragon was approaching defense 5 (from its hide, soak 20 on the outside, adversary 3, durable 5, defense 5, 50 strain threshold [because I had to pick something afterwards], and wounds to high to matter, have been statted) I was expecting my PCs to flee through the side tunnels of a cave that were too narrow for the big mamma krayt to follow them.

Instead they flipped a destiny point to have brought a remote detonater. The mechanic, doctor droid attached it to a concussion grenade (that another character had). they stuffed the modified concussion grenade inside a dead womp rat and then ran into the the narrow side tunnels as the mamma krayt enterred the big cave. The mamma krayt tried to dig them out of the rock but they backed up further so she gave up and ate the dead womp rats including the one with the concussion grenade in it.

now ranged light wasn't appropriate since it wasn't being thrown, so I ruled that they needed to use knowledge xenology to know the best time to detonate the concussion grenade, the enforcer who had talk the talk, was able to use the streetwise skill (which he had many ranks in), and used his two ranks of the street smarts talents to remove 2 of the 5 black dice from defense. and since it was being detonated inside the things gut I ruled it had only 10 soak on the inside. so 16 damage (not relevant other than enough to get past soak), 6 advantage and 1 triumph. they used the advantage to activate concussive and stun the thing (so no actions for 2 rounds, no maneuvers for 5 I think) and the triumph was spent to have the grenade explosion cause the mamma krayt to projectile vomit up a krayt dragon pearl (no one in the party was force sensitive) and have the the enforce with a strength enhancing cybernetic arm catch it with his cybernetic arm (because an organic arm would have gotten messed up by the high velocity impact).

I have a mechanics doctor droid PC with pressure point, and a marauder doctor gank PC with pressure point and they were able to do 51 points of strain damage to it before it was able to act again (lots of triumph was rolled, to keep extending the number of rounds it couldn't act) and infact they had 3 triumph left when the thing exceeded it strain threshold.

1 triumph was spent to make the Krayt be in heat so that the Klatooinian NPC bodyguard of Grondo the Hutt that had accompanied them would be able track the blood trail by scent back to the nest

...they had to capture a young krayt dragon for Jabba the Hutt as a replacement for the large sand crab creature they killed when they got dropped into what will eventually become the rancor pit, this is before the rancor, no jabba wasn't trying to drop them into the pit, just some guy they had delivered frozen in carbonite, and 2 PCs the human cyborg enforcer and the gank marauder-doctor got dropped into the pit, the gank scored a 158 critical on his first attack against the sand crab creature...

the other 2 leftover triumph were spent having the momma krayt puke up 2 more krayt dragon pearls.

oh and they bought out the gamorrean guard's contract from Jabba (Jabba also held him responsible for replacing the giant sand crab creature with a young krayt dragon, he knew where the trap door but was stupid enough to be on top of it when Jabba dropped the thawed out guy into the pit), they were trying to pick a name for him and I suggested Ke'Vin (as in Kevin Bacon), so now they have a pig guard to guard their ship while they're away from it.

Just MHO, but those triumphs would be too potent for my table. Maybe a double-T would get a single pearl...

If any of my PCs were going to build a lightsaber I'd agree with you. But this is a game with no force sensitives, so krayt dragon pearl = 15K with Grondo the hutt taking half, so 7.5 K split 6 ways, an I'm kind of liberal with credits.
