Jax Defenders

By Firespray-32, in X-Wing

So how do you play Carnor in a list like this?

Jax is basically Icarus. You fly him as close to the sun as you can until his wings burn off. The key is to enough that the two defenders can win you the game. If you have Jax and you're not using his ability you should have just brought Palp

I agree. You need to fly Jax aggressively sometimes (but not reckless). I need PTL on my Jax because the option of tanking up or to boost away or barrel roll in vice versa. Of course it's a challenge with Snapshot now in the picture.

I disagree about Jax's attack being weak. 3 attack and 4 at Range is quite good. His ability counters a few other builds and ships but of course the thing about the game is match ups. sometimes you can be lucky, sometimes you get all the bad matchups.

I played Jax/PTL/AT with Ryad/X7/VI and Marrek/X7/juke/MKII.

At an 64 Tournament.

Was somewhat frigtend of Stress, so i overcommited with MKII.

First time Jax on a tournament.

Went 4-2 13th.

In my oppinion you can stand up to nearly any possible squad with that list.

Exception is Imp-Aholes (which i lost to).

The other Loss was my own fault by clipping Astro by a fraktion of a mm.

Very Satisfying to fly, cause you are not helpless, and winning or losing is in your hand.

But no mistakes allowed with jax....

.....zero,

.....nill,

....0,01 mistakes are allready too much.

Ran Jax's Glaives at the last tournament I went to.

- Jax w/ Push the Limit, Royal Guard, Twin Ion mkII, Autothrusters

- 2x Glaive w/ Juke, /x7

That was right after vets came out so people weren't fully aware of how defenders move. Went 4-1 after Swiss and since then it's gone for a running record of 8-3, my most successful list to date.

Timed matches almost always go to points for me though so despite winning all but one match before the cut my Margin of Victory was really low. I tend to play cagey though, saving my tokens for defense which definitely drags it out. Carnor Jax is also usually the first to go down, but by that time the Glaives have usually made at least one kill and wounded more.
