"Once per round, after you discard an EPT, flip that card face up"

Question: Tomax has Cool Hand...gets focus instead of a stress and flip the card. Tomax runs over debris, uses ability, flips card back face up. During combat, he is shot by R3-A2 and another stress come his way. The way I read this is that if he uses Cool Hand a second time, he cannot flip it back up this round, and he cannot flip it again because it reads after the card is flipped, not some random time in the future. Thus, if he uses the EPT more than once per round, he never uses it again.

Correct. He can re-use his EPT every round, or he can use it twice in one round (on separate triggers, because you can only use anything once per opportunity) and discard it for good.

I think a lot of people misread cool hand, it doesn't actually stop you getting stress, all it does is give you a focus token when you get a stress, you actually keep the stress, admitadly it's quite good when paired with fleet officer but very niche

Youre right except for what cool hand does.

If you receive a stress, you may assign a focus or evade token to your ship. It doesnt remove the stress or anything. Which is part of the reason except for Tomax its a pretty bad card lol since its 1 use only, takes an awesome slot, and you usually get it instead of your action.

Tomax loves it when hes toting around a fleet officer though.
