Hi guys, so I just got my HoTR pack and like everyone else am super excited to start using it. I love flying triple Rebel aces, and Nien Nunb is a pilot I was truly excited for, but I am having trouble slipping him into a list with 2 other fearsome aces. The build I had in mind was:

Nien Nunb

PTL

R3-A2

Pattern Analyzer

Integrated Astro

That puts him at 36 points. Certainly not a cheap fighter, so, what can I do with the rest of those points for some strong ace support and synergy? I was debating Janson with VI and adding Black One to Nunb for better control but I'm not sure...

He can still do his thing without Pattern Analyzer. Cutting a couple points could help you fit the rest of the list. Black One and Janson will be a solid combo. An A-wing or Attack Shuttle should be able to come in under 30 points for your third ship.

I've thought about it, the anlyzer just assures range one when he's assigned that stress. Still those few points would really help.

I've used the new Nien w/ R3-A2 on VASSAL a few times and it has become quickly apparent that you pretty much need Biggs to protect him. He is not slippery enough to avoid getting focussed on.

That assumes he lives long enough to get into a position where he might be able to T-roll. Of course, my matchups were against a Rey + Corran list and then a crackswarm. So in both cases, it was not hard for the opponent to kill Nien quickly. He managed to double stress once each game, so he wasn't totally worthless, but both times I found myself wishing I had biggs to keep him around for even more stress-dealing.
