First time repairing a ship

By bottleface, in X-Wing Painting and Modification

I bought my friend's collection a while back and he had a couple damaged ships (he didn't charge me for the damaged ones). The k-wing was missing its base from his attempts to fix it. So what I did was cut a peg down to roughly the length of the typical mount, glued it on and was able to use it later that night. I missed one little detail though.

You didn't align the ship's facing with the base? Well, at least it didn't cost you anything. Besides you could always magnetize it and then it could face pretty much anywhere.

Yeah it didn't occur to me until I went to put the ship on the base and realized my mistake. A couple people yesterday mentioned magnets but I know nothing about any of that or where to start. For the moment I'm not too worried since the people I play casual games with are okay with it.

Reminds me of that scene from Fast and the Furious 47: Alderaan Drift.

I did the same thing to a Defender that had its peg break off the model. Was easy enough to fix, but I facepalmed when I saw it.

Id go for slicing the peg off the ship and then allign the Big K.
