Pattern Analyzer

not sure about pattern analyser, let say i start my activation phase with 1 or more stress, i have chosen a white maneuver, i move my ship, no bump whatsoever, now does pattern analyzer make it possible to make action even tho i was stressed at the start of my move. As the text say's, i check stress later and i do my action, two with push the limit, adding one more stress, running like that the whole game pilling infinite stress?

the amount of people thinking it gives you Tycho's ability is ridiculous.

Stress denies actions PERIOD, in or out of your action step. You cannot perform any action unless something says you can while stressed. PA does nothing for this, all it does is let you do a red maneuver and do an action BEFORE the stress is applied, or do something that stresses you out on a green maneuver to clear the stress immediately (reveal green, do action, PTL, get stress, enter Cleanup Step and remove stress because of green maneuver)

If you are already stressed, the card does nothing.

Its two uses are:

1) Start un-stressed. Choose a red maneuver. Perform maneuver, then take an action before receiving stress.

2) Start un-stressed. Choose a green maneuver. Perform maneuver, then take two actions via PtL/Experimental Interface, receive stress, then clear stress.

3: Start unstressed, perform any manoeuvre over or through debris, still take an action before gaining the stress.

Thanks.

The Check Pilot Stress step is a misnomer. It refers to checking the stress your pilot should receive as a result of your maneuver, not whether your pilot is already stressed.

If I have PtL and Pattern Analyzer on the same ship and reveal a red maneuver while unstressed and then petform two actions, would I take two stress at the end? That's how I interpret it but it seems off that doing the same with Advanced Sensors would force me into a white 2-straight but the new tech makes it legal (and awesome on Nien Nunb).

You would. The difference is that Advanced Sensors moves your action to before you perform your maneuver giving you the stress from PTL before you reveal your dial. Pattern Analyzer allows you to complete your maneuver but delay checking for stress until after you take your action.
