Your table experiences with the newly "fixed" Syck?

I've had some success with this.

Scyk tends to snipe and push crits after everyone else strips shields/tokens. Also easy to get double focus for the whole squad and doesn't care about stress.

My current puzzle is what to do with the remaining 28 points, because the three M3A list is dope... Any suggestions for the fourth ship that might work?

At that point level, Palob. Without a shadow of a doubt.

You could go Palob, Attanni Mindlink, TLT for 27.

Or Palob, Mindlink, Autoblaster Turret and Vectored Thrusters for 25.

Or Palob, Blaster Turret & Moldy Crow for 28 (just stockpile a couple of tokens before engaging).

He can trigger fleetwide Focus by stealing a token from your opponent in the combat phase - meaning all your ships can potentially get a double action.

I still think that Palob + Mindlink + Dorsal Turret + Cloaking Device is the cheese. There's nothing quite like having the guy who steals tokens under 4 Agility dice with an Evade+Focus in the middle of an enemy formation, with your opponent knowing (or thinking he knows) that he's the key to your game. His ability is his offence, not his piddly turret - so you may as well buff up his defense as much as possible.

But maybe that's just from my HotAC experience as an HWK pilot. It is a strange experience to see an HWK survive several close-range TIEs with nothing more than the cloak and focus...

I have moved from mindlinked Sycks to the Braylenn Super Stresshog. I have found that this is the one hard counter that is very difficult for Sycks to deal with. Nothing else scares me with them.

When I first saw the buff, I was decidedly meh. Then I took the Scwarm to a tourney.

The one extra hull was terribly relevant, in every match, there were 2/3 scyks flying with one hull, that extra round of firing made all the difference, every time.

I wish this list had more BMST though. Looks like aces is a bad match.

Remove the Dorsal, add Autoblaster Turret and Stigium Particle Accelerator and you have the perfect Palob

Maybe there's finally a good use for Laetin! Have to try this list. The power of 2 brobots+manaroo

It's the first decent 'filler' ship that Scum's ever had beyond the Z-95 and TLTs.

People have gotten very good at flying the various Scum Aces in the meantime, because there wasn't anything else.

Where we go from here depends on whether there's still a place in lists for 'filler'. I keep liking the idea, but how they pay off will remain to be seen.

I met a Scyk swarm (title, tractor, trickshot x5) yesterday on Vassal with my D(Arcs)lighters team: my main fear was avoiding being tractored on rocks, then i won easily because my opponent had to split fire and could not put enough damage all game long

I'm looking forward to try my Scyk list soon and I was wondering what kind of experiences people have with hull upgrade on Scyk? With mindlink you can have focus+evade every turn, so you can make them pretty tanky little bugs with big guns.

I don't think that list is worth much. 5 Tractor Beams? I would think you won't get much damage through that way. I think 1 or maybe 2 Tractor Beams are worth it, but no more than that in a list. You need damage to punch through. Otherwise you just have 2 main attack dice.

Also...would the Khiraxz Fighter really be so much better being 1 pt cheaper? Would it really matter that much?

Personally, as long as you aren't fighting PTL Arc Dodgers, the Khiraxz is a great add in. I've dished out a lot of damage when people try to ignore it. Or...those 2 green dice have rolled crazy well and kept him alive when you wouldn't expect him to.

I'm of the opinion that a mix of Ions are a better bet than all Tractors.. 2 Tractors + 3 Ions can still do damage (TBH the Ions aren't a huge drop off in damage, 3 dice will probably not do more than 1 damage a lot of the time)

The thing is now new scyks are just better in all. Better dial (5K and 1 hard check) better actions, cannon carrier and now I guess 4hp+3Agi is better than 5hp+2agi.

Ironically, K will works better at 6hp. But another +1 hull title? Nah, it will be boring.

Scyk has a green 3F vs a white 3F, other than that, the dials are almost identical (3K + 5K vs 4K + 5K), both have white 1 hards.

Heh...before the fix, I won few games with a mixed list like this, but now I can't guess why 3 Kihraxz+2 Scyks are better than just 5 Scyks.

I think I will purchase the two that I miss, I like flying scum swarms.

That's what I mean. Kihraxz has a pretty nice dial for a jouster, and Scyk has the same but with more greens. actions and agility.

Oh, and cannons (actually, Mangler at 20 point, same as PS2 K).

I think I will exchange all this stuffs for 1 hull point.

Man...Hvy Scyk w/ Mangler is the same price as Khiraxz, but you get 3 green dice vs 2 and one of your hits turns into a crit. The only thing missing is -1 Hull point and the ability to take an Illicit.
