So... how have people found it?
I've found it to be still underwhelming. But thankfully less so.
This is a secret I probably shouldn't give out.... but imo, THE build for PS2 is simply heavy syck + Tractor beam for 17 points.

I've not had any huge problems beating it when I've seen it.
SCYK.
SCYK.
IT'S SCYK.
THE SHIP'S ONLY BEEN OUT OVER A YEAR.
SCYK.
no its sick. definitely sick.
I was getting good results from three Mindlink & Mangler Scyks and Palob before the change, with /x7 Defenders being the one thing I had real issues with. Since the change I'm less worried by the /x7s.
the fix is a steep in the right direction. ..... bit more from ffg and it will be ok
I found the second ace to pair with Rau and Manaroo.
3TPV+Palob/Guri/Bumpmuster is now really strong.
PS2 HlC for 23 points, is the best filler I ever met (have to see the Quadjumper yet)
For me, they are amazing now. No needs more fix
They've gone from Terrible to Poor.

I think the problem of the Scyk went from being totally overpriced to it is a filler but most scum lists don't need fillers.
More or less every large base scum ship is viable and better than most small ships. And each large scum ship costs at least 45 points, the only exception I can think of is the partybus.
Take 2 of these ships and there is no room for a filler.
The problem might not be the scyk anymore. Wait for a Kihraxz and Starviper Aces pack and the scyk will find its place. Or play less/cheaper large ships.

Agree, a lot of people don't know how to fly those ships
Are we playing the mindlinked version or the PS2 blocker version?
I'm getting decent results flying 2 Cartel spacers with ion cannons alongside VI Ketsu with title, Dengar and EU. A pirate with BMST rounds out the bunch. Landing those ion shots gets a lot easier if the target has -2 agility.
TP Vets with Mindlink can do work. Have flown about half dozen times on vassal with them in different combos. I have not gone with HLC yet. The points would force you to a 3 ship list and I'm not sold on that idea yet.
My thoughts:
1. Serissu just flat isn't worth it. Green dice either love you or hate you and the one re-roll? Just pbbbbbt...
2. The action economy of a Mindlink list surprises a lot of people. It's a tough list to get your head around but it pays dividends.
3. The red while stressed rule is actually a huge buff to the mindlink lists as well. There were numerous times where I had two ships that might want to K-turn. I was able to dial in a K on both and after the lower PS moves, I picked one to K-turn and the other just does its 2 straight. (Then someone else pulls a green and gives 'em all a focus anyway!)
4. The fourth hit point is wonderful! I can't tell you how many turns I had a one health Scyk flying around.
The ship is fine right now. Would love to see a second Title for a "Light Scyk" just for variety's sake but it's good. At least... It's as good as most other ships in the game. They aren't X7 defenders or Dengaroo but that's a whole other ball of wax.
Edited by gamblertubaI'm still massively tempted to actually buy a pair more and run three with Mangler and Mindlink. Maybe with Palob?
If you could fly them before they now work better... If you couldn't well you have to learn. They don't entirely play like other fighters.
The problem is that people tend to get extreme. You don't have to have a pure Scyk list. A good way is for example to put just one with Heavy Laser Cannon into your squad and distract opponent attacks from another ship.
So far I'm 3-0 with two ps5 scyks with mindlink and HLC. Paired with Assaj Ventress with Dengar Crew, Mindlink, Shadowcaster title and glitterstim or Gyroscopic Targeting.
It's only been casual matches and not against the top meta-lists.
But I do think they have some merit.
And mindlink + HLC is in my opinion the way to go. The opponent can not ignore two HLC carriers. And with focus + evades they actually survive a while. And if they are shooting with F+TL after Assaj has tractored someone it's absolutely brutal.
I'm currently doing OK with my Whiplash list. 4-Lom with all the bells and whisles, Palob (TLT, Zuckass), 2 Ion Scyks. There ship get stressed, and then Ioned, and then really have no way to destressed. But I'm wondering if Asajj (with Tactician) would work better, for applying stress/tractor tokens & damage at the same time. But then the rest of the list gets iffy.. as at 44 points you really have an issue slotting in 2 Scyks and something else useful.
Edited by Rodent MastermindI throw on a Hull upgrade with HLC... and I love love love the Scyck Scyk Scyk!
Mangler is nice too.
Those 2 Hull are making a difference- at least a difference when I tried to fly the M3-A last year. BIG difference. I'm dealing damage AND I'm surviving 2-3 rounds of combat...before I would usually last 1 round of red dice thrown at me.

2 Mindlinked HLC TPV Scyks would pair nicely with that Asajj. May not be a great list but your games would finish fairly quickly one way or another.
i blew it up in 1 shot with a homing missile.
Was funny.
My current puzzle is what to do with the remaining 28 points, because the three M3A list is dope.
Three PS 5 + Mangler / Mindlink work very well with the extra hit point, and are surprisingly tanky with focus/evade, and can bump or scoot away with 1-turn barrel roll. 72 points.
I've tried a Gand Findsman. How about a Hawk, two Z-95s with BMST, or even a Scout as wing mate... Any suggestions for the fourth ship that might work?
Two scyks with manglers and mindlink work very well to fly wingman to scum large ships.
Most people will say they suck as long as they don't have 15 health, 8 agility, and 5 dice attack. To those people, I say "git gud".

How bout Old Teroch with Title and Attani Mindlink? No points for thrusters though.
Edit: Maybe Cad Sollus is an even better option. He can K-turn (or T-roll) and still hand out focus to the rest of your list.
Or just another Scyk with HLC.
