Parwan Species

I have a player in my group who wants to play a Parwan. Here are MY starting stats. Any additions or alterations is appreciated.

B:2; A:3; I:2; C:2; W:2; P:1;

Wound = 8 + Brawn

Strain = 12 + Willpower

Starting XP = 100

Natural abilities: able to float in air, (with special serum) can pass through ray shields, not damaged by electroshock.

Natural weapons: Shock tentacles (can choose between wound or strain damage on brawl checks or same as shock gloves)

I understand they're not the same thing, but I can't help but picture Blasto:

I'd leave the serum bit out of the "natural abilities" section, but maybe mention it in the physiology fluff blurb. It was really for a one-off in a Clone Wars episode, and it didn't seem to be widely-known information. I don't think even the Parwan bounty hunter knew it would work on him, necessarily. Also, being able to resist any form of electric-based damage is pretty wizard, so starting XP should probably be 90.

Here's what I did for a Parwan when my son wanted to play one a couple years ago.

PARWAN

Wound Threshold: 8+Brawn

Strain Threshold: 12+Willpower

Starting XP: 80

Brawn: 1

Agility: 2

Intellect: 3

Cunning: 3

Willpower: 2

Presence: 1

Special Abilities

  • Parwan start the game with one rank in Coordination. They may not raise Coordination over 2 during character creation.

  • Shocking Grasp: Parwan can deliver a jolt of electricity capable of stunning a Silhouette 2 or smaller organic target. Treat as shock gloves with Stun 3.

  • Dirigible: As living, ambulatory bags of gas, Parwan can travel on wind currents, but cannot adjust velocity or direction. They can, however, adjust elevation and anchor themselves using their tentacles.

Thank you for your replies. The player agreed with my stats. We have done two sessions so far and he still hasn't used any of his natural abilities. I need to find a way to encourage the use of natural abilities. Probably make specific situations for all the abilities.

Isn’t Parwan in the “Unofficial Species Menagerie”? I’d be really surprised if not….
