Sorry. Clarica time. Someone earlier in the thread postulated that seeing as all the heroes are Scum and Villainy types, maybe one of the missions would be to capture the Rancor for Jabba.
Was Subtrendy.

So, if you brought a rancor as an ally, I wonder how much threat that would be worth. (quick answer, it is worth ALL OF THE THREAT)
What if your opponent used the 10 threat to bring... another rancor! I know, I know, only 1 rancor in each mission.
Hmmmn, I wonder, IS there a cap on the number you could bring? One elite, one normal? Heh heh
There's no normal rancor, only elite.
It will likely be limited to only one, component limitations restricted to the box contents. The only exception to that rule is the AT-ST when you add the General Weiss pack, it removes the AT-ST limitation.
Rancor v Rancor would be pretty cool in skirmish, though.
I have a feeling it will show up in mid story mission and the finale.. as well as one or two of the included side missions. They won't over do it, they never have to be honest with any big baddie imo (just Dengar lol), but I definitely want to see it more than once in the campaigns.
Weiss entrance in the core, that really hard mission I forget the name, was done very well and is very un expected.
Certainly makes the Repulsor Tank and AT-ST look overpriced.

I mean, the AT-ST makes the AT-ST look overpriced.

It at least had a niche as a big tough blocker. Not a terribly good niche, but at least it had some reason for existing. Rancor is very nearly as tough but better in every other way for a lot less.
well, don't discount the fact that the AT-ST has range, a built in targeting computer and will always have 2 defense die. if you want to attack twice with the rancor you lose its double defense dice and it still has to close to melee range. I'm not saying that maybe the AT-ST should be a point or two less, but it isn't something to ignore.

So what you're saying is we need a unique Rancor villain named "Bob"...then both the heroes/scum can bring in Rancor and the Imperials can bring in Bob?

I'm tattooing Bob on my rancor when I paint it now! ![]()
