Because apparently this isn't clear- here are things Trick Shot does NOT do.

By Kdubb, in X-Wing

Trick Shot

0 point EPT.

When attacking, if the attack is obstructed, you may roll 1 additional attack die.

1. Trick Shot does NOT trigger if you are equipped with Dash Rendar crew.

2. Trick Shot does NOT trigger if R5-X3 is active.

3. Trick Shot does NOT combo with Tactical Jammer.

4. Trick Shot does NOTHING for your defense roll. Ever. Period. It is purely an offensive upgrade.

I would love to know the back story that inspired this post.

3. Trick Shot does NOT combo with Tactical Jammer.

It does work if the Jammer is on the other guy's ship though.

probably because a lot of people immediately thought of dash + hot copilot, which completely negates copilot lol.

I know theres already atleast 1 person trying the tact jammer idea, since thats in the rules threads right now. Even though the card specifically states enemy ships.

You'd be surprised. There was a comment string on a facebook group where multiple people were talking about the potential of Biggs with this upgrade (with the EPT droid, so at least they got that right), behind a Kanan Ghost with tactical Jammer.

They had so much wrong about this upgrade that it pained me to read. I think I had to comment 3 or 4 times until they understood that they had no idea what the card did.

All it really does is negate the disadvantage of shooting through rocks. On average 1 red dice is slightly better than 1 green dice (modification of course matters). So 1 red dice for trick shot against 1 green dice for being shot through an asteroid. I'm wondering if you could do something with Scyks and cannons as they like being out at long range sniping, and with an asteroid that's 5 green dice on defense.

It's more or less Zuckuss's pilot ability with less control of when to trigger it. If you have a way of ensuring that the defense dice cannot be modified while making sure that the attack dice are, this gets really strong. Especially for free.

Just a note- Something Trick Shot DOES combo with is Rigged Cargo Chute on ships that can shoot behind them.

That's comedy right there, that's what that is.

I'm wondering if it's worth swapping Adaptability out for Trickshot on the 5xGreen Squad list that's kind of popular.

So, the first three I can kinda see how it was misinterpreted, but 4? How was that justified?

People read what they want to see and not what is actually on the card. That's the only excuse I can think of for those who seemed to think this I ran in to.
