There are a couple of cards in HoTR that weren't spoiled.
Does anyone have a picture of Hot Shot Co-Pilot or Trickshot? (or anything else that was unspoiled that I missed).

Trick Shot will increase your attack value by 1 when you make an obstructed attack. It costs 0 pts.
Hot Shot Co-Pilot says that when you make an attack, the defender must spend a focus token if able. When you are defending, the attacker must spend a focus token if able. It costs 4pts.

What is the exact wording on the cards?
Thanks CB.
Here you have spoiled cards with translated text

Hmm is Trick Shot, Attack Value or Add a dice... I've seen both version... if it's the later... I can see Scyks with Cannons and Trick Shot being interesting, lurking behind asteroids rolling 5 dice at range 3.

Thanks. I'd seen those before. I was looking for the exact English text that was used so that I could submit a rules question.

"When attacking, if the attack is obstructed, you may roll one additional attack die"
It's die. Someone posted the exact wording of the card for me in a different thread.
Just don't try to get cute by doing Trick Shots with Dash Rendar crew. It won't work.
It's mostly confusion over what Hotshot Co-Pilot actually does. I was hoping that the English text would be more clear. It doesn't seem to help any.
Hotshot Co-Pilot is either an okay card or a really good card depending on how it actually works.
Edited by WWHSDYeah I'm not sure whether "spend 1 focus token" mean spend it in the traditional way to turn focus into Hits/Evades or use it as a cost on anything you like.
Seems pretty clear Hot Shot Co-Pilot forces the enemy ship to spend a focus, if they have one, on any attack or defense roll against this ship. Remember that they have specifically FAQ'd it so that you can spend focus even if you don't roll focus results, so it basically eats focuses away from the target. I am going to LOL on this with a Phantom or Ghost.
Edited by R2ShihTzuSpend a focus, no clause on what. Unless they are "Unable to modify dice" since apparently as per Omegaleader FAQ thats a thing preventing focus from being spent too, they WILL spend a focus when attacking or defending against you. On what is up to them, but they MUST spend it if they had a chance to (meaning Snapshot wouldnt allow them to spend a focus, but AC would because AC still has a window where you can focus and Snap doesnt)
Pretty much only ship i see this being awesome on is a Decimator since that third crew is either occupied by palp's fat ass or empty, and this goes wonderfully with Gunner. Fire normally, opt out of any mods you got, they MUST spend a focus so no more "i'll keep my focus and take 1 damage" crap, gunner for the real deal oh look no focus!
Or for that matter strip focus from 2 ships, since Gunner technically allows a different target.

With the way that it is worded, Hotshot Co-Pilot may be making you spend that token as a cost for attack or defending making it unavailable to be used during the attack.
Edited by WWHSDi dont get that at all.
All it says is they must spend a focus token if able. If it denied any effect of that focus token (which would rocket this guy's value like crazy) i'd expect it to be worded like:
"When attacking, the defender must spend a focus token before rolling defense dice, if able. When defending, the attacker must spend a focus token before rolling attack dice, if able"
I think thats rather insane if it did that. Whoever has this guy would be immune to focus tokens unless you stacked them. And because it works both ways, you cant simply ignore him.
It can easily waste the focus though. Face someone with Rey crew, youre going to really piss them off if they were forced to spend that focus on a blank roll and couldnt bank it anymore lol

That is reading text that isn't there. Spending a focus during an attack is dice modification and there is zero reason to believe it does anything other than what it always does during dice modification.
Do what the card says to do. Don't do things the card doesn't say to do.
The card does not say to spend a focus prior to the attack or defense.
I agree that is probably not a cost but I'd like to clarify that point before asking questions about whether or not it is okay to make yourself unable to spend a focus token during your attack.

This is a pain in the ass for Swarms. I usually prefer to hang on to Focus for defense, especially on Howlrunner. Might have to break out the Evade tokens in some cases.
This seems pretty simple.
Lets say YV666 with Gunner and Bossk attacks a TIE Defender X7. Defender has a focus token.
I attack, roll 3 hits, defender rolls 2 natural evades and a focus.
The TIE D might want to say yeah I'll take that one hit rather than let you attack again with a target lock and a focus. Especially as I would rather maybe use that focus for attack.
So he doesn't spend the focus, takes 1 damage, turns move on.
Now change that up with Gunner, hotshot and Bossk. Exact same defensive setup.
evade/evade/focus.
Hotshot has FORCED him to use that token defensively.
Maybe there isn't even a focus roll result, hotshot still does the same. He has to spend that focus even if it has no benefit.
If you remember one of the Agromech combos on Scouts was on bad rolls with the PWT, just spend the focus to get the TL and use it same turn even if you didn't have any focus results to turn.
It's also stated in the previous FAQ that you can spend a token without there being any benefit.
I am glad there is a counter for the Moldy Crow Title finally!

Well, note that with the new timing chart a ship doesn't actually become a defender until all applicable costs have been paid. Thus, HSCP can't trigger at 1.iv because the ship HSCP is on hasn't become the defender yet and so HSCP wouldn't be in play. And the step immediately following 1.v (target becomes defender) is 2, which has two sub steps, neither of which make any provision for spending tokens. Which takes us to step 3, where we modify our dice with tokens and etc..
It does seem as though, since no window is specified, Kanan could spend the single required focus at step two to decrease the attack pool, presuming range 1-2.

Yep that's how I read it.. but what if a ship has a character or upgrade that lets him use focus in another way.. can you use that ability instead of spending it in the normal way... EG Sensor Cluster.
The card specifies that you must spend a token at some point during the attack or defense, it does not specify that the token must be spent to convert an eyeball. Spending from Weapons Guidance is spending during the attack, Sensor Cluster is spending during the defense, spending to trigger Kanan's ability is during the defense, etc.
Spending prior to the target becoming the defender is not, so is off the table.
But you're not required to spend it on a usable result. If for some reason you wanted to ignore your sensor cluster and spend it to modify the zero eyeballs that you rolled, well, the wording doesn't seem to prohibit doing so.
