Snap Shot verdict from the real Play-Testers...

So I don't have the Heros of the Resistance or an Upsilon-Class Shuttle, so I don't have this card. However, it seems so very interesting and there was a lot of buzz around it and the possibilities when the card info was leaked.

I wanna know from the real play-testers (the actual players): is this card good? ....worth the price of another Falcon/T-70 and/or Shuttle?

Is that one card worth another Falcon Model or the T-70? I'd say no. If you really really want the card, I'm sure you can find it cheaper on one of the sites that sell it.

If you are leaning towards getting it and it might sway you to get it, well, that's another story.

so the snap shot r3-a2 shenanigans on nien nub are not worth it at all

the ship just sucks at any range that isn't snap shot range, and you're always always better off with the far more flexible stress mule

indirectly testing (re: glancing over at another player's games) revealed that it is fascinating on a green pilot crackswarm

unmodified dice do their thing occasionally, though, which means games v pre-nerf torp scouts where three snap shots do jack **** but games v carnor jax see him get killed the moment he gets into range 1

if only the ******* thing could be fired out of the auxilary arc, it'd make r3-a2 Shara actually viable :o

I'd disagree. He's absolutely not worth the 30 plus points you pay for him over, say, Tomax with Homing Missiles and Crack Shot for the same price.

I'd also say that Heroes isn't worth it just for Snap Shot.

If you're a rebel player, it's excellent.

If you're not...

Snap Shot, Trick Shot, Hot Shot Copilot, Primed Thrusters, Pattern Analyser, and Burnout SLAM is a LOT of goodies you can use, and Trick Shot in particular is one of those 0 point cards with no downside that there's no reason NOT to use if you have the slot free. I'm gradually talking myself into buying it, much as I probably shouldn't.

Pattern Analyzer is ridiculous on my SFs. Backdraft just got even deadlier.

though really, Rhymer should be 22 points because Jonus, going up from the gamma vet, should be 21 points.

I know.

I normally don't run /sfs with PTL, but it might well be worth it with PA.

Indeed. M9-G8 is a card I'm waiting for with either Thane or Shara in mind.

Backdraft w/ Outmaneuver, Mk2, Title, PA, FCS = 35pts.

Hes not a point and click ship, SFs are kinda fragile and draw a lot of attention so he has to fly really irregularly. Outmaneuver procs a LOT on him, and with PA now he can 3sloop and still get a focus or barrelroll, which previously i have been avoiding doing because the situation usually demanded i barrelrolled as well.

He goes where he pleases. He does a stupid amount of damage if you fly him right.

On topic with Snap Shot, I've heard of an interesting A-Wing build that utilizes Green Pilot, Snap Shot, Juke, and Autothrusters. Yes snap shot can't be modified, but Juke will allow you to modify their dice. Seemed interesting.

Off topic, I need to try me some SFs soon. Been meaning to and my local league is starting back up so I have plans.

I ran Juke Snapshot on a green squad an oh man, it was a run of frustrating dice. I shot at Poe, ARCs and defenders a lot over the three games, and did maybe 4 or 5 damage over the three games? The snapshot was alright, and I enjoyed not being tied to green maneuvers, but I really missed having TLs and focus token for my regular attacks. That being said, evading every turn with 3agi and autothrusters made him super annoying and hard to kill.

I also ran Nien Numb for those three games, and I never got to use his ability, snap shot and stressbot in a turn, which sucked. He always died super fast, and was focused down first, usually at range. No regen and 30odd points can be a tough cookie to swallow, keep the stressbot on ARCs and Ys, and keep snapshot far away from X wings.

I want to try one more list, with two jukesnap green squaddies and Rey, I think it will have tremendous staying power, and those As will be huge pains for an enemy trying to take down Rey.

Is this a great list? Probably not. But I think I might be in love with it anyway. Would need another copy of Adaptability though...

I've been running 5 crack snap a wings and they're really good as long you don't lose one at range 3

I havent delved into scum yet but any rebel/imp stuff i own. Only scum i own are some 15USD ships (think the Mist was 20...) for cards only in those kits. Still need to get a Scyk though so i got a dang mangler cannon...

Green Squadron + Snap Shot + Crack Shot x5 is a strong list that will likely struggle against Dengaroo. I believe that if they don't have initiative an x7 Defender would still get its evade prior to being shot, unfortunately.

Yes, if the defender has init then he gets his evade. No focus though so its not all bad.

If i had that many Awings and cards i woudl so run that list.

Right? Both the 5x Adapt/Crack and the 5xTrick/Crack builds look like fun...but 3x Rebel Aces, 3x HotR, 3xStar Vipers, and then some combination of boxes that gets you to five crack shots? Jesus Christ.
