U-wing Upgrades

By evanger, in X-Wing

The "Pivot Wing (Attack)" dual card's other side says what? "Pivot Wing (Landing)"? I thought I read this somewhere, but now I cannot find that bit.

Two non-limited, non-restricted crew upgrade cards are called "Ins... Re...". Perhaps it says "Insert Rebels"? The card art appears to show the U-wing dropping people off on the ground. The description says something about "Once... friendly (ship?)...removes...may..."

As the upgrade does not have restricted text, this crew card could go on Scum or Imperial vessels, so "Insert Rebels" is likely not correct. The second word might be "Recon"; it likely has to be short. Perhaps it says "Instant Recon".

Clearly it appears this troop transport may be setting up for doing just that...transporting troops! There does not seem to be any new tokens related to said troops; even for use in included missions or whatever.

Perhaps it is a conceptual effect, like use some discard-able crew spent to peek at someone's maneuver dial (something like the "Cassian Andor" rule effect).

"Inside Recon" maybe? We are talking about a Star Wars spy movie wherein the heroes infiltrate an enemy base.

That doesn't seem like a proper "Crew" upgrade card name.

It would appear, based on the centering of the two words, that the top word likely has two more letters than the bottom word. I would suggest the bottom word does not have more than 5 letters, as well. Maybe 4.

4 Letter English Words beginning with "RE" that make any sense (maybe):

read

rear

redo

repo

rest

real

reel

5 Letter English Words beginning with "RE":

reach

reads

rebel

react

ready

rearm

recce

recon

regen

renew

repel

relay

remix

reset

reuse

For top words, here are some 6 letter words with "INS"

insane

insect

insist

insult

insert

inside

And, finally, some 7 letter words:

inspect

install

insular

insider

insight

inspire

instant

I think everyone who has contributed here is on the right track.

Ins.... Recruit sounds possible for a crew

Instant recon? Insular Rebel?

"Insertion Refit" would be my guess.

"Insertion Recon Team" could be close to the name of the card.

Picot Wing Attack is +1 green. Pivot Wing Landing is 'When you execute a stop manoeuvre, you may rotate your ship 180'. Both are 'when you execute a manoeuvre you may flip this card to the other face'.

There are was topic, I think, with blurry photos of this card (and some others - Ahsoka, Captured TIE, EMP) from some magazine...

"Insertion Refit" would be my guess.

A great name for a Modification card; not an obvious Crew card name, perhaps.

Must be a playtester...

Have to admit I am sad that this card, called "Inspiring Recruit", has nothing to do with dropping off troops. From a troop transport.

Also annoyed that "Pivot Wing (Landing)" has nothing to do with landing.

Was hoping for a ground game tie-in.
