What to buy next?

By Jamborinio, in Star Wars: Armada

I have one of each ship currently available and have duplicates of the following:

CR-90

Neb-B

VSD

Fighter Squadrons

I was thinking the Imperials need slightly more variety since their ships to be more costly and therefore more restrictive for list building. I have been considering another Raider, MC30, AFII, Glad and or Flotillas, but finances right now might not allow for all of these.

What would be your recommendations for next purchases, and why?

Thanks

Do you plan on playing rebels or imperials? Choose then focus on that side another raider or more flotillas would be a good bet if imperials. If rebels another MC30 and flotilla gives you several good options.

Depends on your play style. Do you want to play Imps or Rebs? Do you like squads or ships? Do you like a few big ships or a lot of small ships? It's hard to tell someone what to buy because if you get it and don't like it, you may feel like you wasted money. Check out the fleet generating sites and experiment with stuff. Borrow ships and upgrades from friends or proxy your fleets. Once you know what you like to play, it will be easier to tell you what you need.

But with CC coming out, definitely get another wave 1 squad pack for both sides as you will get a lot more uniques to play.

I would say flotillas/save for new stuff.

It's both me and a mate who're buying and so we always plays the Imps and the rebels (swapping each time). We don't really have a particular playstyle so we're probably just looking for suggestions to increase variety more than anything else.

Cheers

Either a 2nd Flotilla of your main faction or wait until the new wave comes out

Get the lower costing ships. Likely you will run 1 large ship in your fleet and that will take ~1/3 of your fleet. You can add smaller bases like Glads/Raiders/Gozanti for Imp and GR75/Corvette/Neb for Rebs and get more value in the long run. I have 2 ISDs and only played both at the same time once. I have yet to field both my Libertys as well.

The Assault Frigate, MC30, and Victory are in that weird cost range where you might run 1 or 2, but have difficulty fitting a large ship with squads. However, the MC30 pack has the excellent Turbolaser Reroute Circuit which you may want several of.

Great advice guys, thanks. So if were to go with a definite of:

Second Gozanti

Second GR-75

Second Raider

And finally, a second AFII or MC30 what would you pick?

I've had great fun running Admonition and Foresight (with Mon Mothma) at larger ships so can heartily recommend 2 mc30s.

1 of each of the squadron packs, and wait for Wave 5 and the campaign, that'll add heaps to your variety.

I am in the same boat as you, get one of each ship (so you can get all the upgrade card) as you can afford it, try to get them all!

But if he wants the Yavaris god-tap, he needs to buy the Interdictor -_-

No, that just makes it easier.

Those of us who got used to planning, maneuver and funnelling, have been doing it for quite some time.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz you're so awesome

I think knowing the difference between what is needed and what makes things easier can be quite enlightening towards making an informed purchase.

my point was for the combo itself, not the double tap. I'm quite aware a double tap can happen without these, oh god dare I say, crutches. But, I was precisely referring to the combo itself of fighter coordination team and flight commander, for which you need the interdictor for, until wave 5 at least.

I would wait on that second raider and spend that money on a second Arquitens or third when it comes out.

Second MC30 for that sweet sweet TRC and a great ship.

I don't think you could go wrong with either of these purchases, as they both have their uses. That said, at your current set up, you only have 1 medium based ship on the Rebel side. This can limit the type of fleet that you are building, which is what it sounds like you are trying to avoid. However, you already have 6 small bases (2x CR90 & Neb, 1x MC30 & Floteeya) and a plan for 1 more Floteeya, so that portion of your fleet is much more well rounded. The AFII is still one of the most well-rounded ships in the game. You won't go wrong with 2 sturdy Assault Frigates in a fleet. And it plays great with upgrades or naked, which you can't say about a lot of ships. I would go with that, with the consideration of adding a 2nd MC30 sometime down the road. I know that getting another TRC is sweet, but it's unnecessary when you are just "playin' with your mate" because you can easily use the card for multiple ships.

Either way, you will have more options for variety simply by having more ships to choose from, so go with what appeals to you more.

Flotillas and a Raider. Raiders really love to fly in pairs!
