With the Royal Guard title, could you put autothrusters in both modification slots on an Interceptor, so you could change two blanks to evades? I don't really see any reason why not since you can stack cards like recon specialist and what not.
I guess I never thought about it because it's probably a dumb idea, but just wanted to make sure I'm not missing a rule.
i think thats one of the few that doesnt fall under the "once per opportunity" but i could be wrong.
Wouldnt be a wise idea though. Pretty common you dont get autos at all or you roll focuses and only 1 blank.

You can't; the title specifies two DIFFERENT Modifications.
IF you could equip Autothrusters twice, then yes, you'd be able to trigger it twice.
But as has been pointed out, Royal Guard TIE specifically requires the two mods to be different cards, so you can't double-equip something.

FFG has been very careful with their "take two of this thing" so as not to allow broken combos.

The A-wing was created nearly 1 years before the Test Pilot title and nearly two years before Adaptability. I highly doubt that is the reason.
In fact, this is one of the "flaw" of the A-wing versus Empire Ace. That and the no barrel roll and the 2 attack...

Whether a second autothrusters is worth more than, say, a stealth device for one more point is up to you. The option is available, though.
