''On the Boat'' for what seems like ages...

By grillepainman, in Arkham Horror: The Card Game

Hi all!

Do you think that the boat got lost into another world?

I think I read somewhere that the boat is stuck somewhere because someone isn't able to pay the custom/port fees or something like that...

I also even read a post on tweeter that the release was suppose to be around Halloween but now it's more early november...

What's up with that?

I can't wait any longer! :P

Not sure how reliable, but I have heard a few mentions of Nov 10th as the best case as of now...

I don't know man, the Android Novella Monster Hunter has been listed as being on the boat since January according to the update page and it is apparently available for purchase now. Maybe the update page has gone wacky or something?

I just saw that Amazon and CoolStuff have pushed back their release date to December. FLGS is saying the same thing. Maybe they sold a lot more than expected at Arkham Nights. Reviews are already out though!

Unlikely, since we could only buy one copy each. Apparently, they had to have the Arkham Nights copies specially shipped in to get there in time.

Were gonna need a bigger boat....

Well somebody had to say it..

It is now shipping. November 10th appears to be the day from what I have been hearing.

Shipping ... Yihaaah... well it does not change much from "on the ship".

The product is traveling from the printer to our warehouse. The duration of this process varies depending on where the printer is located, be it in the US, China, or Germany, but generally takes four to six weeks.

The product is being shipped from the FFG warehouse in Minnesota to stores and distributors. This process takes between 7-10 days for the US, or a few days longer in Canada.

Yup, can't see any difference there...

I know the difference. But I find it funny that it starts to ship when it's not on a ship anymore ;)

But it doesn't say "On the Ship"; it says "On the Boat." There are no ships involved: A thin old man rows up to the docks on a moonless, foggy night with a sack that, large as it is, cannot possibly hold thousands of board games. An FFG intern wordlessly hands the man a single coin of an unknown, iridescent gold alloy, then lets him into the warehouse. When the man leaves, hours later, the sack is empty, and the warehouse is filled with product.

When Arkham Horror was first released, an over-curious intern dared to peek inside the warehouse while the man was at work. Her name was Amanda Sharpe.

Canon.

Hmm

The gold coin smells faintly of, what is it?.. chocolate...?

The "boat" has a suspicious set of reins dissapearing under the water where a curious stream of bubbles is breaking the surface...

That sack.. it is nondescript, but the red and white clothing of the old man seems to jog a memory, though you cannot remember him being thin at that time.

You begin to wonder.. was that faraway manical hahahaha laughter you thought you heard truly a mark of insanity, or was it warped by the surrounding architecture and truly sounded like hohohoho?

The Mythos truly is a wonderous confusing place...

FFG community is the best _ever_ :-D

I love you guys

That's probably the last instance where the crew laughs at how funny it is that they're passing right through the Bermuda triangle......mystery solved. You know those guys are gonna' love the theme. I guess we'll get it on the next shipment....

Boat doesn't pass near Bermuda.

I think your joke detector might be broken ...
