CC SQUADRONS!

By Drasnighta, in Star Wars: Armada

Okay, Monte Carlo'd it because apparently I'm having a mental block today and can't math.

With Toryn on every shot, on an Adar + Yavaris triple-tap, you have:

  • 92% chance to proc at least once
  • 61% chance to proc at least twice
  • 20% chance to proc all three times

and

  • 31% chance to proc exactly once
  • 42% chance to proc exactly twice

Never tell Gink the odds. He will still wipe all your squads with his lone Numb!

20% of the time, he'll do it every time! :)

I really don't see Nunb replacing Tycho in the light zippy MSU's. The speed difference entirely aside, as significant as it is, they just do different things. Nunb gives the rebels some serious damage throughput as long as they can weather the return fire. Weathering the return fire means building to protect Nunb, with escorts, Biggs, GH, JF, or whatever, which in turn means significant investment in your squadrons. Tycho is specifically good at harassing squadrons unsupported.

Saber Squad+ Flight Controller+ Howlrunner = death! Cannot wait to do this...

Ffffuuuuuu....

He's going into my 10 squad Dodanna list sinc I already have 13 points floating around, 8 of which were a bid. Then you will fear Numb. Everyone will fear Numb.

Its okay, its okay... He's not going to do it to you... You don't have to worry about it =death! because you're strangling him... It won't happen that way... Its okay...

Fun bit of rule trivia on Ten Numb. Because it is a "spend" effect instead of a "critical effect" for the Blue Critical, he can do it even against an enemy squadron that is going to scatter the rest of his damage, because scatter happens after dice modifications (when "spend" takes place) but before critical effects are declared. I would assume it happens that way not because FFG wanted it that way for balance, but because there is no such thing as a critical effect against squadrons.

They would have had to have created a new Squadron Keyword for it to be allowed.

The possibility is there (Squadrons cannot cause or recieve critical effects unless otherwise stated) -

- Of which Bomber is the perfect example of a Keyword that changes that "rule".

Although they could have done it with just carefully worded text, as it is... But it would be a lot of text. A Keyword is simple.

This way, avoided.

But hey, perhaps it was by design.

Does that mean that Biggs' analysis is incorrect? At which point would the critical die to trigger Ten Numb's be spent?

No, Bigg's analysis is spot on.

As of now, it is a Spend Die effect. Which is in the Modify Dice...

So if you throw your Anti-Squadron Dice and roll Acc, Crit, Blank.... You Spend your One Crit right then and there, deal your splash damage and then... End your attack.

Don't even get to the Spend Defense Tokens Step.

really liking what I see from this expansion.

Jonus is by far my favorite , they actually managed to make this guy: fun , unique, interesting to play without making the current rhymer ball stronger and even encourage the use of ship like GSD II and victory I, it's a home run!

The best squadron from this expansion is probably going to be Valen Rudor this guy is seriously under costed , that's a shame because he is going to be soo efficient that he might replace any other kind of anti squadron.

He's very good but he runs into some hard counters. Namely, anything with a scatter.

Valen with Cienna. That's a terrible pill to swallow.

Anyone else think Ten Numb might be overrated? I think I'd rather see him in a Millennium Falcon squadron card myself. Or at least in a faster ship.

The thing is, there will ne'er be another Millenium Falcon Card that differes from the original. Not without a Card Errata.

Because there is nothing thus stopping you from having both Millennium Falcon Cards at the same time.....

Because if you look at Han Solo's Card... The "Unique" restriction is on Han Solo.

Not on Millennium Falcon.

Alright....time to paint more tie fighters.

Black and grey, and maybe a bit of metal blue

They could errata it.

that was nien numb

Am I the only one happy for the new squadrons just for the cards? I really like collecting all of the cards that go with this game!

Or just do a basic YT-1300 transport and put Ten Numb on it as the unique? Or just make another Millennium Falcon? Not like it would be that hard to put in a little sentence in a new set that says you can only have 1 Falcon(either Han, Lando, or whoever). With the campaign set coming out I can see this happening in the future.

Which is exactly what I was saying.

You would need a Card Errata.

Sadness is right!

Does anyone use Han Solo at the moment? For me he's about 6 points too expensive.
