CC SQUADRONS!

By Drasnighta, in Star Wars: Armada

Of course, I have too many shinies. Have already moved on to the practicality of a Trench run screen.

Wedge

Luke

Biggs

Rogue Squad (since Red became rogue or was rogue. Not totally sure)

Dutch

Y wing (hopefully Gold squad)

Keyan

118 if generic Y. 119 if Gold squad and Gold is 11.

No bwings at Yavin but I thought I remem er reading Keyan was the surviving Ywing pilot

What about Pops/Gold 5? (If he is the CC Y-Wing Ace)

With an 11 point gold squadron, I have 15 for any unique Ywing that that might have been at Yavin.

Barring that, toss in a generic Xwing. Thats 5X,2Y,B. Probably usable. Im calling this the Trench Run Crew

(look at the YV-666 and YT-1200 to see how good speed 2 anti-squadron is).

Ten Numb is gonna be freaking amazing then. What a bunch of heros.

For me, Ten Numbs 5pts if running yav, adar and toryn is offset against the 3xwings I am no longer bringing.

Why are you dropping 3 X-Wings?

Because I dont need them when Numb is triple splatting everyone to death....

Well that is 15 less hull with escort you don't get to protect him, and 12 less die per turn... I don't quite understand the reasoning but ok.

Black Squadron is 9 points with escort?

Looks like Soontir Fel can add them to his list of squadmates.

I seriously feel like all the regular and obvious Imperial tricks only get better with this release.

A non swarm escort with 3 hull

A non swarm escort with 3 hull

For 9 points with counter 1.

For 9 points with counter 1.

Counter 2 with Dengar, so an average of 1 damage with Dengar in the group.

Ideally, Soontir's autodamage too. So 9 for 2 damage and another shot not at Dengar or Fel

So average of 3 damage if Soontir is engaged. Nice.

4 damage when Mauler joins the party.

Plus we'll see what else we get re: tie advanced.

It's possible that the utility of Black Squadron, which is already pretty big, will only rise with new unique abilities.

Maybe they will reprint Vader without escort and with rogue. Any speculation on what his ability would be? Besides destroy any small based ship when you attack.

There's something that hasn't been mentioned yet and that is the Gladiator II-Class with Jonus.

(look at the YV-666 and YT-1200 to see how good speed 2 anti-squadron is).

*20% chance of triple-splatting, assuming Toryn. Super awesome when it happens? Yup. Reliable enough to build your squadron game around? Not unless 20% win rate is good enough for you.

But that's 6 points I don't want to spend...

I've been trying ot keep it on the down-low - although I know that's Steel-Squadron Impossible :D

You had it as 58% chance three pages ago.....

58% to get 1 crit off I think. To get all 3 crits it is 20%.

Edit: Oh nevermind.. It does say 3 crits is 58%

Edited by Undeadguy

You are absolutely right, I jacked up my math somewhere. I blame lack of sleep. It's 58% to get the crit on one Toryn-modified shot.

*reexamining*

edit: Re-examined. I'm right on the 20% number, see this for accurate numbers.

Edit bad math 66%

I think that's wrong too!!! Someone check me!

Leaving my comfy lurk state to state that Biggs with 4 xwings is terrifying since you have to deal 21 damage before that module looses firepower. Can take the alpha strike and still win.

Oh yeah, I'm looking forward to having a reason to actually prefer a Gladiator-II over a -I and Jonas may well be it. All the fun of Sensor Teams without giving up Ordnance Experts.

Sensor Teams are the opposite of fun.

TAKE THAT BACK

TAKE IT BACK RIGHT NOW

Okay, Monte Carlo'd it because apparently I'm having a mental block today and can't math.

With Toryn on every shot, on an Adar + Yavaris triple-tap, you have:

  • 92% chance to proc at least once
  • 61% chance to proc at least twice
  • 20% chance to proc all three times

and

  • 31% chance to proc exactly once
  • 42% chance to proc exactly twice
