CC SQUADRONS!

By Drasnighta, in Star Wars: Armada

I'm sorry, I'm sick and everything is just not making sense right now.

I'm dumb.

I just realized that if a squad is treated as obstructed while defending, other squads can't attack it. I was wondering why everyone was slavering over Cienna Ree. Now I belatedly realize why.

Only "while defending". Other squads can shoot at it, minus one die. It's just like Jamming Fields. It's not obstructed for determining engagement.

Plus squads can in fact attack other obstructed squads at distance 1. It's at -1 dice, mind you, and you're not engaged (meaning you're not stuck there by that squadron, Escort doesn't trigger, Swarm doesn't trigger, etc.), but you can still attack one another.

I'm sorry, I'm sick and everything is just not making sense right now.

Sounds like you could do with a Coffee...

You absolutely still are engaged. It says "while defending", the exact same wording as Jamming Fields. For all other purposes (and for all other times outside of "while defending"), you aren't obstructed.

Edit: But in all seriousness it's an ear infection paired with a bad reaction to my flu shot. So really, coffee would do nothing for me.

HA! I DON'T DRINK COFFEE!

MAYBE THAT IS THE PROBLEM HERE

Which absolutely completely blows, and you have my sympathy...

... I just wasn't going to give up the, most likely, one and only shot I would have to throw the java link back at you :D

There are new drivers, though...

Ciena Ree - Nice Ace interceptor that can't be shot by any ship EVER (Kallus and/or CF maybe). In a world with Jamming Fields, nothing additional to fear above having Defence tokens

1) There are Plenty of 2 Die Anti-Squadron Ships... (Neb B Escort, AFMK-IIA, MonCal Command / Assault / Battle, ISDs, Glad-IIs, Raiders)... They'll still get 1 Die at you, assuming all of their dice are in range (some are Blue-Black, so it only counts for Black range)

2) If you are a 1 Die Anti-Squadron Ship, no amount of Concentrate Fire or Agent Kallus will help, becuase you lose your 1 Die before you get a chance to add them, and your attack ends....

You can use concentrate fire on your AA attacks? If you do, does it work on every attack in arc?

You can use concentrate fire on your AA attacks? If you do, does it work on every attack in arc?

1) Yes.

2) No.

Elaboration:

Concentrate Fire (Dial and Token), are both used used while attacking... Attacking, in this instance, is defined (essentially) as a pass through the Attack Steps.

Selecting a Target, Rolling Dice, etc, etc, etc.

So you can use your Concentrate fire to modify the dice of a single Anti-Squadron attack. because each of those anti-squadron attacks are considered separate attacks for the purposes of bonuses and upgrades....

And, like a main anti-ship battery attack, if you want to use both the Dial and the Token, you have to do so on the same attack....

...

This is one of the reasons why I petitioned for a Ship to not have Two Attacks, but to have two "Salvos", each of which entails as a single anti-ship attack, or anti-squadron attacks... Separating the word "Attack" from two different meanings would go a long way.

Bad reaction to your flu shot???? If you had a reaction that made your sick it wasn't a flu shot my man

I can't make it out what does it say

Second player may deploy their squadrons near obstacles, outside Range 5 of the opponent's side. Get your Rogues / Slow B's into possition early!

There's some additional text, but it's hiding behind Ten Numb. "After a squadron performs and atta-- ------------------------------------- was de----- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- squadr--------------------------------------------"

Hm, that's an interesting use of an AA shot if you have a unique that's causing you some problems. Thanks for the clarification!

Fighter Ambush could be good with Interdictor's Grav Shift. I foresee its stock climbing as we get these new objectives.

I'm more Interested in the Imperial Rank badge at the bottom of the Card.....

I'm guessing that's the Imperial card. The rebels will have their own.

It's the same card for both, the badge is just what faction you played in the league.

Need I say more

Liking Capt. Jonus for the fact he gives a bump to combined arms Imps. Allowing you to have a splash of bombers and buffing the big gun carriers which Imps have in spades. From there you could run the strong fighter wing to deal with enemy fighters. Rhymer always seemed problematic for needing to commit to a heavy Rhymerball almost abandoning your ships.

Then another shot hits, and the scatter goes. That's been the way of the scatter aces all along.
