What are your exceptional Armada feats? (not-serious topic)

By Church14, in Star Wars: Armada

- Round 6, squadron phase again. My opponent is certain his ship has weathered the storm having raised shields on all sides with a repair but only one hull left. I activate Boba at range 1 … BOOM … opponent sad face.

So... Hate to tell you this, but Boba's damage isn't direct hull damage. They can take it on a shield.

Yes, they can take it on a shield but they didn't take it on a shield. Should I have told him? Maaaayyyybbbbeeeee ;-)

I had an opponent fly a fully decked out Akbar MC-80 into a debris field once, and scoop the ship because it was the last hull.

I almost told him that he could take the damage on shields, since he still had one facing with full.

I would have too, if it hadn't been a tournament or if he was a new player.

ANYTHING TO WIN!!!

This topic is every inch of what I hoped it to be. All the goofy stories...

Lost a game because my because my opponent accidentally rammed his interdictor into his own flotilla. By sheer luck, that kept his interdictor near the outpost and got him 20 more points for a 14 point win.

I was gonna mention that game but you beat me to it lol, oh happy accidents.

Not my responsibility to inform a player that he's incorrect in a competitive setting on something like that.

Like I said, if it were a newer player or a casual game, I would have said the, "Are you sure you want to do it like that?"

In a tournament though, knowing the rules is part of playing the game. Had he asked after he scooped to take it back, I probably would have let him, but it's not my responsibility to police an opponents bad or uninformed decisions.

I've done the same thing before too, but with my luck I always get paired with the new guy to start the tournament and then I help them understand the game and then they start doing really good which causes me to start losing. Only once has helping someone cause me to lose though, but now that guy is one of the best players in the area.

I wouldn't feel like I'd really won if I let someone think their ship destroyed when it was actually still alive.

Staying quiet would be misrepresenting my ship/squadron's abilities.

Resurrecting this thread to post about my very first game with Wave 5 goodies.

My flight controlled Zertik Storm rolled two double hits and a hit on the red, while I got a crit on the added blue. I opted to not damage anyone to trigger Storms ability. 5 damage right at Biggs, who promptly braced and sent a damage away to another X-Wing but STILL. It was a ton of damage that would've nuked anything that didn't have a brace or a scatter.

Rolling 24 black dice and not getting a single critical effect off and then watching my last/ first demo get hammered by a ship that should have been space dust.

I put off getting into Armada for a long time since I've been playing X-Wing, and bought the core on sale mid-December. Within 2 weeks I purchased a VSD, ISD, GSD, Imp Squads 1 & 2, Rogues and Scoundrels, Arq. Cruiser, Raider, Interdictor, corvette, MC80 Liberty, AFMKII, MC30, and Rebel squads I.

Is this considered an exceptional Armada feat for a 2 week period? :D

so i face a rebel army with my Imps, i have a fighter screen that have rhymer as a way to take some shots on enemy ships(not a full rhymerball) forcing the enemy fighter screen to engage.

-then my nearby Raider activates a ... squadron command, getting one squad- MITHEL into the ball of engaged squadrons, followed by an amazing spray of 2 blacks with OE rerolls ALL getting 2 damage. the impressive feat was, most enemy squadrons were at 2-3 health at the time, meaning the raider got to be the hero that basicaly wiped them al out!!!

Not mine but a friend has a crazy hate/love relationship with salvation. As long as he equips the title he just rolls double hits

Last night a bad maneuver guess on my part in turn two put a Corvette (and running speed 4!) smack in front of the prow guns of my Dad's ImpStarII at medium range, full side-on to make things worse. Even with the obstruction bonus from Cracken and an Evade re-roll on my part, he manages to still roll exactly 8 hits/crits with no upgrade help, which obviously even with a Redirect is enough to one-shot it to oblivion. Just one inch further would have had the CR90's side arc LoS dot behind a gas cloud, completely immune.

Helluva a way to encourage a newbie, when you are teaching them the game.

Who doesn't like vaporizing a CR90!
