No, he'd whine about how the Imps get him and how Imp players are greedy.you'd think para would love how Hux trumps palpDid ParaGoombaSlayer hack into this guy's account?
Thst does sound like SOP
Oh well, we can always check reddit
Meanwhile, i kinda wanna try hux out. Even the fickle ties are less...exacerbating when one hits through green dice and 3 can take evades since hux is handing out focus snyway

This is why I'm waiting to see the Striker's generic's cost and dial. Cause I'd love to run Hux on either a Lambda or Upsilon with a Striker swarm.
I've been thinking about a Striker swarm depending on what we see from the preview for it. It'd be like the mothership bat and all it's baby bats flying around
Sure, at the DEFINITE cost of your defense. Have fun on those unmodified green dice. Can't use the condition if you die before you get to attack, but tell me again about how R3 is pilot skill dependent. You make some good points. Five points is a lot. Fleet officer doesn't see a lot of play and Hux is two points more for maybe one more focus and the condition card. So how good is that condition card? I don't think we can answer that definitively yet.
One major flaw in your argument is that R3 requires you to cancel your eyeball result. As in you limit your offense to get a (PS dependent) defensive bonus.
Fanatical Devotion requires you to spend a focus to increase your attack. This is something you want to do anyway. The unblockable damage is just gravy.
How many green dice does a Decimator roll.
Did I miss a FAQ saying that any ship withot focus for defece gets destroyed at the start of the combat phase?
Any card that lets an Academy pilot hit a turtled up Soontir Fel at Range 3 behind an asteroid is pretty good in my book.
Too bad you can't mod your evades, and pop before firing.
It's right next to the part where if someone gives you a focus token, you lose your ability to take an evade action.
Edited by skotothalamosI think it might be fun. A mobile 'autoblaster' condition is cool, and TIE/fo fighters are that slight touch tougher than their older counterparts.
Random thought:
Stridan is a focus generating machine; meaning the Epsilons can do other things - if the Fanatical Devotion TIE is likely to be shot at, evade is a possibility - otherwise target lock. Meanwhile, any shot that misses hands out focus elsewhere.

Upgrade the Academy pilot to a Chaser.
Any friendly ships in range1 that spend a focus, it goes to him. Feeds into your focus-dumping mentality with Hux.

Chaser will be a beast the day that FFG releases a mod fueled by focus tokens.
given that theres more and more alternative uses for focus tokens, i'd say its a matter of time until we get something in the mod slot that takes one.
Course, it has to be after the attack phase or at least when he activates to attack, otherwise he wouldnt be able to get much benefit from it since he wouldnt be swimming in focuses yet

Three with SD at range 3 behind a rock.

4 if it is Kenkirk at the helm with Countermeasures instead of SD.

In a world where Soontir and (maybe) the Inquisitor were still the go-to aces that'd be true. In our brave new Asajj BMST Dengaroo StressArc Defender meta, well. Okay, you push a damage through past Palp. Do that six more times and I lose a Defender, lolol.
Edited by mxlmI'm not big Imperial player but I find it funny thought to run Fanatically Devoted Dark Curse next to Hux.

That may actually kind of fix what has always been Dark Curse's biggest problem for me. Nobody bothers to shoot at him unless he's their only shot or they don't have a way to modify their shot. If you give him FanDev his threat jumps up enough that lobbing unmodified shots at him might be worth doing.

... oh, that is brilliant .
Three focus tokens for a single action is pretty big. It may not be 5 points big by itself
It also frees up a bunch of actions, making your choices a little easier and your actions being predicted correctly a little harder.
Besides that, just toss Hux on a Raider, together with Tarkin.
Exactly so. The ships still have their own tokens to play with - yes, for example, Fanatical Devotion stops you spending Hux' free focus on defence. But you've still got your own action to play with - and (If it's a TIE fighter) you can just evade instead.
Yeah, show me a top Nationals cut, post wave 9 with a crackswarm in it. Its a ton of x7, dengaroo, ghosts, and party buses.
Canada.

If your squad could benefit from extra focus action economy he may be a better call than Palpatine: his modification isn't as powerful or reliable but there's a lot more of it.
I think this is why we'll see palp aces and hux swarms as two distinct flavors. Palp is much stronger saving a bad ace die and hux is much better supporting a squadron and punching through ace defenses.
And that's very probably FFG's intention. Cause both together would be brutal.
The character is also stupid. The actor was a bad choice. And the writing for his lines was ridiculous.
No! Both Kylo and Hux are just overeager kiddies really hard-trying to be bad-ass empire (Many imperial officers worth something are probably dead or elsewhere)(and Hux is maybe as brainwashed as Finn, only he is in a command position, or he is a truly devoted believer). So Hux's cheasy lines are totally fitting. As is their biggering with each other.
While Snoke draws at the strings in the background (using his overeager puppies) and probably wants Kylo and Hux to compete against each other, trying to outdo the other, all in the line with the Dark Side.
He's a bit young to be a General.

IIRC the canon explanation is nepotism, which makes a lot of sense as an explanation.
I'm hoping they both end up being explored a bit more next movie.
