The case against General Hux.

By nikk whyte, in X-Wing

I'd drop EI and the recruit for Systems Off.

Target locks or Stealth Device? Why not both? Then you can lose a skinny OL and put in something like Pure Sabbac or Deathfire. I think OL isn't worth it without Comm Relay.

A lighter version of the same idea (help ptl aces stay unstressed AND provide action economy to other ships AND help push an unblockable damage through)

33pt Yorr

Yorr (24)
Adv Sensors (3)
Hux (5)
Inspiring Recruit(1)

Only a R1-2 assist bubble and no 3 actions + 2 free focus Soontir shenanagins... but it will let you clear 2 stress each round. Take actions before moving so no bumps etc. Clear a stress off of a PTL ace near by to protect from BMST etc.

Just remember: if Yorr takes the stress, Soontir's ability doesn't trigger.

A great idea, the point however was to pump soontir like crazy. You could always throw Sys Off on a tie shuttle to take the idea even further and give soontir a TL too. lol

Correct, intended for Inquisitor or other PTL aces.

Sure, but Stridan can use it at R3. No TIE Shuttle can match that!

True but I really want that action to push soontir off of before he reveals a green maneuver. If you use the shuttle (again this is for fun not a competitive list) you can have soontir with 3 actions + 2 free focus and a free TL.... potentially every turn. The Baron can be Von Tokenstaken

And now for something Completely Different... A Hux with 3 Upsilons.

Starkiller Base Pilot (30)
Electronic Baffle (1)
Intelligence Agent (1)

Starkiller Base Pilot (30)
Electronic Baffle (1)
General Hux (5)

Total: 100

This is true. Ran Stridan with Hux just tonight. Works like a charm.

Also you could put lonewolf on a ship that gets fanatical devotion and take evade action. Add a evade with token and reroll blank green.

Rise! Rise from the Grave!

But more seriously, the only problem with that idea is Hux needs to be within range 1-2 normally, and Lone Wolf needs to be beyond that. There is a case for using Stridan, or the Lone Wolf moving out of range after using Hux to apply the condition, but that's pretty corner casey.

PS Hux is my boy. For fun times, throw FanDev on a ship with Ion Cannons or Tractor Beam. Now that Imps have access to Ion Cannon Turrets, even more fun.

Gaiz I'm just gunna put this here. Plz test and let me know how awesome it is. I think it's awesome every time I've played it. With practice I think you will see Hux in a new light:

Megacity One (100points)

Major Stridan - Electronic baffle, General Hux, Inspiring Recruit, Pattern Analyzer, Hyperwave Comm Scanner.

Omega Squadron Pilot - Swarm Leader

Imperial Trainee x2 - Adaptive Ailerons, Lightweight Frame.

(don't forget to assign the shuttle a focus token when you use hux, if you have a good shot. Usually (but not always)you want to give focus to stridan, omega, and one of the trainees).

The ship hux is on gives out focus and finatic devotion, then the ship with lone wolf has higher PS so moves beyond range 2 of friendlies and gets lone wolf.

Yeah, I mentioned that. Its pretty corner case to be a reliable application of it.
