You should be able to force t1 shots almost every time with a scanner squad of juke tie fos (whatever the cheap ones with ept are) and the ups shuttle that deploys them r2 of it. Set the shuttle up diagonally and put the ties as barely in r2 as possible. Do a 3 or higher speed maneuver and they will have had to not move to not be in range. Just try it yourself and see how far that lets you drop ships, it's really deep in the board.

Plus the whole team can deploy at ps 12 to force the joust.

Large ships with 5 forward and boost can easily force engagement in the first round. Not to mention that Comm Relay is a thing.

Heroes of the resistance Han most definitely can get shots off on turn 1. For that matter, you can easily get a Phantom into shooting range turn 1 by "long-bombing" it out the back end of a K-turning Ghost.

Except the deployed Phantom can't fire the round it deploys so even though you can get it into range in round 1 it still can't attack.
