Is there a limit to the number of free actions that Valen Rudor's pilot ability gives him? The new core rulebook says 'A ship cannot perform the same actions more than once during a single round, even if one or more of the actions are free actions'. A friend recently bounced all over the board using Valen's 'free action' pilot ability which I think is wrong.
Valen Rudor Query
If he performed the same action more than once in a single round, then he did it wrong. The rules are pretty straightforward in this regard.
Each specific action only once per turn, no matter how many "free actions" he racks up. 1 Barrel Roll, 1 Boost, etc. no more.

Yup. He can definitely boost and barrel roll, given two triggers, but not either of them twice in a turn. (Including actions he did in the move/activation phase)
Daredevil!
At present Valen can do a maximum of 5 actions in a round (6 if you include the free evade action you get when you acquire a TL from the title, 7 if he's taken a crit he can fix with an action) - the four basic actions on his bar, and one he gets from an EPT.
Indeed, that last is quite a neat use of his ability I'd not noticed before - take a crit you can flip as an action, then immediately flip it after defending. I think it works, timing-wise.
Edited by thespaceinvaderA nice trick. But - since he only has one 'hit point' during which he can suffer crits, probably not that useful. Still, worth remembering.
Technically, thinking about it, he could actually use his ability to fix the crit which killed him. It just... you know, wouldn't help.
