Abilities that work with Targetting Synchronizer

By WWHSD, in X-Wing

Targeting Synchronizer doesn't work with any of those abilities.

It's not Shara's ability "You may spend target locks as if they were your own"

It's "You may use target locks this ship has as the cost of firing a secondary weapon with "Attack [target lock]."

I found the mistake in the article guys.

It looks like there are two constructs that get used for abilities that spend target locks.

1. 'you may spend a target lock you have on the target'

2. 'if you have a target lock on the target, you may spend the target lock'
I believe that the first one should work while the second one would work for paying the cost but not for determining if the ability can trigger.

WWHSD, none of that is the actual wording. Go look at the picture. The bad wording you're getting is due to a bad update to the squadron builder, I'm pretty sure.

So, that last part. "If a game effect instructs that ship to spend a target lock, it may spend your target lock instead."

Corrected the part in bold.

But like, "that ship" is only friendly ships who are attacking at Range 1-2.

I assumed 'game effect' just meant, "If the secondary weapon you're using requires you to discard the target lock, you can discard this ship's target lock instead."

Edit: Never mind me. I need to take some notes from certain podcasts and read better.

Han Solo (crew) : Spend a target lock to modify eyeballs.

Last night I realized how powerful Han Solo crew* could be if paired with Weapons Guidance**

Basically, instead of spending a token to reroll a blank and hoping , you can just spend a token to convert that blank directly. And you can spend your other token to convert the rest of the results directly.

Granted: this combo rests on the idea of not having more than 1 blank result. But a 4 point combo to eliminate a lot of dice variability should be good at some point, I think. Now for the ship that has the crew slot, the cannon slot, and the tech slot...

*

Han Solo

Rebel only.

When attacking, if you have a target lock on the defender, you may spend that target lock to change all of your (eyeball) results to (hit) results.

**

Weapons Guidance

When attacking, you may spend a focus token to change 1 of your blank results to a (hit) result.

Resistance transport for sure.

And we might even get an astromech slot with it too (although I considered that far more likely before ARC-170). Incredible cross sections shows an interior compartment for an astromech on board.
