The Shuttle

Boy they were REALLY careful with Major Stridan, weren't they? It's friendly ships only, so he can't use Saboteur or Mara Jade with his ability. And no EPT slot, so no long range Wingman or Swarm Tactics either.

Still, it makes friendlies at Range 3 eligible for his Coordinate action.

Man long-range Wingman would be great.

Still assuming the dial isn't awful, long range fleet/systems officer is going to be shiny. Better than Co-Ordinate by a ways IMO.

Ops Specialist is... interesting but not outstanding. Seems a little overcosted given that it's reliant on someone missing (though that could be the ship carrying it) and someone still having a use for a focus token. IN a Vader/Gunner Deci it could be fun though.

It's like Rex but might actually be useful since you are just betting that someone misses, not that the ship carrying the crew misses. Then you get to give the token to someone that might still have a use for it without needing to rely on an upgrade like Gunner that might make it usable.

I like the idea of Major Stridan with some Officers/Specialist or Weapons Engineer and Targeting Synchronizer with some Bombers, but that's looking like a big chunk of change to take away from the alpha strike itself. ALTHOUGH, you can safely put LRS on your Tie Bombers and have Stridan take the locks for you to perform the 2nd engagement shots without needing to run away for that range 3+ lock only issue. Hmm......

That chunk is going to what looks like a fairly tanky ship that throws a big handful of red dice though.

It's still betting on missing though, which I'm not a huge fan of except in the gunner type situation where you're using missing as a way to token strip. And for 3 points it'd better be outstanding, as compared to Fleet Officer for the same price and slot - albeit, it is more widely available than Fleet Officer.

I'm thinking Homing Missile barrages with Targetting Synchronisers are COMING. And importantly, it's not Imperial Only... A wing Homing barrages, z homing barrages, bomber homing barrages. HOming missile barrages are a thing.

Too bad he doesn't have an EPT slot.

Yup. Fleet Officer/FCS/Targetting Synchroniser and a bunch of GSV Bombers with Homing Missiles. Highly reliable damage potential and no need for Deadeye.

I wonder if this is gonna boost the use of Jess Pava? Put it on her cause she's cheap and likes flying in formation.

Being low PS hurts with that intention. You need someone who's going to get a lock on the likes of Soontir in the first range 3 engagement before the rest of the list shoots, which Jess just isn't.

Bombers already having the locks from LRS, they can reliably barrel roll in the same turn for better positioning the same turn they want to shoot and still get a focus from Major Stridan's Fleet Officer. Me likey.

Why use LRS in that context? Better to use Chimps I think. You can get focus/chimped shots or focus/tl/chimp if you get in range for the lock as an action.

It really is a pity you can't take Hux on a TIE shuttle.

Fanatical Devotion on a /D Defender with two focus tokens automatically does two damage and applies a tractor or ion. Tasty.

Hux paired with any /d tractor defender is pants stiffeningly gross. Take focus, be given focus+devotion and then both of your shots automatically hit as long as you rolled any eyeballs. They get beamed on the first then can't block a die and have reduced agility on the second.

Not automatically. You still have to actually roll an eyeball, and you have to get a second focus token from somewhere that isn't Hux's ship, which could be your action, of course. But yeah, that is pretty nasty.

E: Hux is not quite as good as I thought, but also better. I hadn't noticed he hands out Focus like a Fleet Officer, which is great, but I also hadn't noticed that Fanatical Devotion is only applied to one of his targets.

Poo. I was hoping for a more solid use for Jess.

Compared to Fleet Office though, it doesn't generate stress or take an action to use. You could always put it on a ship with Gunner since it is self effecting. It's a point more than Luke Skywalker but it's in a faction that an option in, when you do hit with your first shot the upgrade isn't wasted because someone else may trigger it.

Tossing this on a TIE Shuttle that's rolling with something like a TIE swarm might be nice. With all of those two dice attacks, someone is going to be missing especially on a round that the swarm K-Turns. Give the token to whoever had to use their token on defense or a ship that had bumped or K-Turned that round.

I wonder if I can get the Cooridnate or Tech upgrade on a Lambda Shuttle?

Hux putting the devotion on the shuttle he's on seems really good. No focus on your 1 agility defense roll but who cares.

just on the shuttle he's on? you think so small!

Why do you need a second focus token? Fanatical devotion still changes all of your eyeballs to hits, it's just that the first one it changes is magic.

Am I misreading something, or did I find the article error? The Hyperwave Comm Scanner only impacts the ship it's on, yet the article suggests that you're dropping your TIEs at PS 12, too.

Going by the "your" on the upgrade generally referring specifically to the ship its on.

Giving out the focuses is somewhat interesting, I guess - anyone who's silly enough to full speed joust one of these lists will regret it.

<edit> ninja'd. Curse this slow internet.

It's a unique condition. It can only be on one ship at a time. Sure, everyone gets a focus token out of the deal but only one of them is shooting through evade results.

I'm digging the new rules we've been getting for before/after Place Forces and other set-up effects. Should be fun.

I just realized that this is a Rogue One ship, seeing it in the newest trailer for the new movie. This thing is the First Order equivalent to the 1955 Cadillac Limousine... with HLC's!

Could Someone post all the spoiled information for me because I can't open the link.

Thanks!

I see a Modification upgrade in our future.... :)

No, that's a different shuttle with a similar design. This is Kylo's shuttle from The Force Awakens.
