Is no one else concerned about captured TIE?

By Sir Orrin, in X-Wing

I trust FFG almost 100% of the time. I didn't even freak out over Contracted scouts when they hit hte meta hard. but A modification that makes it so you can't be attacked? :o Who thinks this is ok?

Way too thematic to pass up.

Remember, though - the yellow-stained Tie can't attack either.

I didn't realize that, I was listening to a podcast, and they must have missed that. that makes it better, much better.

Yeah, once the carrier shoots or is the last friendly ship on the board, the mod is discarded.

I'm still an academy pilot, and haven't been trained to be concerned about possibly captured TIES. ;)

· Captured TIE (unreleased)

TIE Fighter only. Rebel only.

Enemy ships with a pilot skill value lower than yours cannot declare you as the target of an attack. After you perform an attack or when you are the only remaining friendly ship, discard this card.

(Text from yet another etc http://geordanr.github.io/xwing/ )

And it's only lower ps iirc. Higher PS can shoot I think

Gotta love the Rebel spec-ops guy on the card art. ^_^

Yeah, it'll trick a green Academy Pilot, but Soontir Fel will be able to spot the neon orange and yellow TIE and realize that something is ... amiss.

But not those contracted scouts, or Syndicate thugs, they just think that tie's an innocent imperial tie pilot that got horribly lost in space.

Depends how they define attack.

Captured TIE is great. It goes on a fragile ship and allows it to better act as a support ship or to be able to deliver a payload like EMP or bombs. It makes loading a TIE up with upgrades not a stupid thing to do.

There is only one way that "attack" is defined in this game. If you don't do something that iuses the attacksequence, it's not an attack. Dropping bombs or using something like Feedback Array or Slicer tools is not an attack.

So you suggest using a support ship (Roark) to support a support ship? They will never see it coming. Combine them with Biggs to prevent your support ship for your other support from being attacked.

Yeah, but I´m going to use Sabine´s Masterpiece on the yellow TIE but Captured TIE on a basic grey one!

Thematic to the hilt! Probably not Tourny worthy but that´s not the objective here I feel

Having played it

Nope

Not ev3n a little

Higher ps? Cant block. Lower ps? Get shot

I can see it being useful on a VI Ahsoka. Mabye with some crew that will give some extra support. Most of the enemy ships won't be able to attack you so you can use her ability freely.

Feedback array doesn't count as an attack as as far as I know. So that could be good for it as well

Feedback Array on a 3 HP ship? (I know Z-95 are 4). Given the price of a Rebel TIE and the possible options with the title, FA seems a bit of a waste of potential honestly.

I'm personally looking forward to the (albeit dice dependent) BMST, Saboteur, Experimental Interface combo... If the dice fall in your favour, deal a damage card and then immediately turn it face up. Run it on Sabine with Wired as the EPT to make the most of the stress from EI when attacking.

My usual list is double PS10, so....nah, seems fine to me.

I am waiting uptil someone uses captured TIE and emp device on VI Ahsoka to fly an entire TIE swarm off the board.

I don't know that I've ever seen a TIE swarm in a position that having to pull a one straight would put it off the board.

On the other hand, I've seen plenty of situations where the TIEs would love being given 1-straights for a turn.

Roark.

Torkil

I just realized Torkil's kind of funny against this mod. Because before he change's it's pilot skill, he's wondering why this innocent tie fighter is flying around with these rebels, then he uses his ability and he suddenly realizes....

Rebels can fly tie fighters too!

Alternatively: VI Vader think something might be up with that random TIE until Roark tells Ashoka to 'fly casual' then Vader lets her fly by...
