Anyone running this guy with success??? I think his ability is definitely worth a go, but I'd have to change the fleet around to fit in his points.. but stripping redirects to help bombers damage punch through seems strong... Anyone?

As an Imperial, I've never contemplated doing so either.

Never saw him in game. As Ginkapo said he need to strike first and from my experiences I know that striking first wiyh squadrons in squadron game is first step on road to loose game

I've played him, but not a big fan. I feel like you want him in a combined-arms list with squadrons and at least one heavy hitter. The problem with that is, he also needs a lot of the AOE squadron support like BCC and Toryn to make sure his ability goes off. Once you've done that, you don't have a lot of points left for that heavy hitter that will really benefit from him.
That said, he might go well with the titled Liberty? I dunno, he still seems way too hit-or-miss for my taste.

He is referring to Not using Flight Commander, so you can have him do his strike before Yavaris adds his Red Dice to it.
Which means you need to be Old-School getting him into place without the FC-FCT Combo, before double tapping him.
Sure, have him be the first guy off in a squadron attack - and follow him up with squadrons - But Ginkapo is talking about following all of them up with Yavaris itself.
Funny enough I liked him more in wave 2 builds. His effect could prove devastating. In Wave 3/4 builds I feel toryn far and BCC'S just do what his ability does anyway for all other bombers. With the efficiency of bombers these days defense tokens sort of become irrelavant. Best and most reliable way to get an opponent to lose defense tokens is make him spend it.

Red dice IS insignificant. That why youneed the red dice AFTER Nym, to make the red dice SIGNIFICANT. Otherwise, why are you running nym.

I've used Nym quite a bit with very good success. It does help a great deal to have Toryn Farr and/or 1+ BCCs. Yavaris and/or Adar Talon are great helps as well. He flies in or gets FCTed into position (for Yavaris). Often gets a crit. Your opponent gets to use defense tokens and then you take what they did not use (or an exhausted Brace/Redirect if you want to go the more direct route) ... I generally do not strip Evade tokens though unless the ship has TLRCs and has yet to go.. If you follow up with a ship attack (or Nym) your opponent has to decide if they want to use those exhausted tokens. You can strip defense tokens fairly quickly with this approach.

Yeah... but by the time youve spent points on yav, flotillas and bombers.... those three red dice are probably the second best salvo you have...

Yeppoooo full on old scoool, it's a trap style......you could even reinforce yavaris front arch.

In theory should work similarly with Salvation instead of the second liberty
I think Nym's another good use is for getting rid of Brace tokens when you have B-wings or Scurrgs. He's definitely useful for setting up Salvation with Spinal and concentrate fire, too, if you're looking for cheaper-than-a-Liberty options.
