SLAM

By IG88E, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Can I make my maneuver, boost and then make a SLAM or does "A ship cannot perform SLAM as a free maneuver" prevent me from doing this?

Do mean free action instead of maneuver? I f you had Push The Limit, for example, and you used it after your boost, then you could not use SLAM as your free action.

Edit: K-Wing does not an Elite Slot, so if you had Engine on your K-Wing, boosted, and then another ship activated and used Squad Leader to give you a Free Action, then you could not do a SLAM, because you cannot use SLAM as a Free Action.

If you perform a boost as your action in the "Perform Action" step then how are you getting the opportunity to perform a SLAM action, other than something that grants a "free" action?

No, you can't boost then SLAM. There's no way in the game currently or in anything spoiled to do that.

You could almost pull it off with Squad Leader, except for the pilot skill requirement. But in no case can you do a boost before a SLAM all within one ship's activation.

Thank you for all answers.

Please do not forget the "Burnout SLAM" illicit upgrade I am referring (with PTL and egine upgrade)

SLAM, as you said, cannot be performed as free action.

That being said, you can only use SLAM as your turn normal action.

Any unique YT (either model) except Eden Vrill can do it with PtL, smuggling compartment and burnout SLAM. <-- actually, no they can't as smuggling compartment stops them from putting on an engine upgrade.

IG's can do it.

However, as also pointed out the SLAM action specifically states that it cannot be used as a "free" action. You can slam, then boost, but not boost, then slam.

Can I Slam your boost, while you boost my slam?
