Quick question about Soul Bound

By BraveTrooper, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hello!

Quick and stupid question about Shadow Walker's card the Soul Bound.

Can i place Shadow Soul on the target's space even if it says "Place a Shadow Soul in any space adjacent to the target."?

Thanks :)

Edit: Just double checking. Because some cards mentions about "space containing figure"

Unfortunately for you the rules for adjacency are pretty clear in Descent. The space in question is not adjacent to itself, so you can't place the shadow soul there.

Thank you.

While you cannot place the shadow soul in the target space, monsters adjacent to OR IN the space containing the shadow soul are affected by the soul.

I have an additional question when using Soul Bound.

Should the Shadow Soul be placed adjacent to the target space or adjacent to the target monster?

There's a difference when targeting a large monster.

In this case, the target refers to the monster, and not the space, so I think you can place the Shadow Soul in any space adjacent to the monster.

Target=figure

Target space = space

Don't forget also that the Shadow Soul bonuses apply straight away after you´ve placed the familiar, including the attack in which you paid for Soul Bond. Many players forget about that.
