Star Destroyer topic may be dead, but...

By Millennium Falsehood, in X-Wing

If you're interested in a huge Imperial Star Destroyer model for scenery purposes, or want one as your Imperial Huge for some reason, then you might be interested to know that the model kit company Zvezda is coming out with an absolutely stunning 24"/60cm kit of the Imperial class Star Destroyer, based on Fractal Sponge's CGI model. Release date is December 2016, according to their Facebook page.

It is small. I need a 2 meters long one. Oh man I need it.

That's how those work right?

Well Zvezda makes good quality models for good money and is also easily available in Europe. And then my favourite Starship from my favourite 3D artist. You can say I'm pretty much hyped now.

Ooh, this is neat. I knew they had one on the way, but I thought it was going to be based off the Giraffe class star destroyers from Rebels.

Then stick it in your 3D printer and click Enlarge.

No mate, you need a 3D photocopier for that.

I need one i will put it next to my Lego one.

So did I. Many other modelers did, too, because they used a picture of the Star Wars: Rebels version for their announcement. Maybe they saw the reaction to that and decided that they needed to use the original design instead.

Yeah, I was kinda disappointed when I heard they were using the Rebels model, but actually really excited to hear they're using the 'normal' ISD model instead. I've been waiting for a good, reasonably priced ISD kit to hit the market and this is exactly what I'm after. I'd prefer if it were even larger, but at 24" I'm not complaining too loudly :)

Yeah, same. I mean, the only options before now were the Anigrand kit, which is out of production, or the Randy Cooper kit that's over $300... And this one will be about the same scale as the Venator class and will probably be around $50-70. :D

Yeah, I'd been eye-balling the Randy Cooper model for a while but the price point was just too high.
