Old Republic (yet again)

By mad mandolorian, in X-Wing Off-Topic

this has almost certainly been done before but im not finding it,

what do people think the cards for clone wars Republic ships and cards would be. here's my ideas:

ETA 2 Jedi Starfighter:

TIE/In with -1 firepower but with an astromech slot

Delta 7 Jedi Starfighter:

2 firepower, 4 agility, 2 hull, 1 shield

Focus, Barrel roll, Evade

has Astromech slot

Torrent Starfighter:

2 firepower, 2 agility, 3 hull, 2 shields

Focus, Target Lock, evade

Missiles, Cannon

Y-wing: Same as rebel's

ARC-170:

Same as rebel's, may not take Alliance refit title

V-Wing:

2 firepower, 3 agility, 4 hull, 1 Shield

Focus, Target Lock, Barrel Roll, Evade

Rockets, Astromech slots

LAAT/I Gunship (Space Version):

3 firepower, 1 agility, 5 hull, 0 shields, Focus, Target Lock, Evade, Rockets, Torpedoes, Crew, Crew, Cannon, Cannon slots, has primary turret

Title: *Anakin's Starfighter: (Jedi starfighter only) +1 firepower, +1 shield, may equip up to two modifications (instead of one): 6 pts

Cannon Cannon: Bubble Laser Turret: May perform 2 primary weapon attacks each turn (maximum of one per target)

Astromech: Extended Cockpit (Y-wing only) adds 1 crew slot: 0 pts

Title: Aggressive ReConnaissance (ARC-170): adds Cannon and System upgrade slots: 1 pt

Title: *ARC Gunship (LAAT/i): adds a Bomb slot: 0pts

Yup, youre right, this has been done before. I still appreciate new ideas about the clone wars era, if we make enough noise maybe FFG thinks about releasing more Clone Wars ships (maybe not in the Clone Wars era, but as "old ships" (like ARC-170) and as "clone wars veterans" (like Asajj Ventress)). I keep getting confused because people call the KOTOR Republic the "Old Republic" and others call the Clone Wars era Republic the "Old Republic". I'm pretty shure that, in the movies, the Clone Wars era Republic citizens call the KOTOR Republic "Old Republic", but the New Republic citizens (from Crimson Empire, etc.) refer to the Clone Wars era Republic as "Old Republic"! That were two long sentences.

You've got nice ideas (I like the V-Wing, but your Republic Dropship needs a buff),

YariSamurai

Your talking about the craptastic prequel movies, not to be mixed up with kotor which was actually good.

i have no love of anaken's love affair ether but DONT DIS MAH CLONES

It's all garbage with force entities and bleeding jar jar, it's all evil and wrong.

You're absolutely right. Clone Troopers above all!

for the record, Old Republic is something like several thousand years in the past. Its where KOTOR or SWTOR comes from.

That era has some pretty dope ships but theres no way we'd get them. I dont think ANY Old Republic is considered canon.

that might be true but it's the same Republic as the one in the Clone Wars and I feel calling it just the Republic is a bit ambiguous.

and sorry no card creator images, i cant upload them properly

ps. anyone know where to make upgrade cards? I can only find pilot card makers

Nimbus V-Wing should prob be closer to the A-Wing in stats and vision, that said, as long as no-one bases it on the one in Battlefront 2, I think we can all go home happy. (Stupid Flying shotgun bomber V-Wing)

And Delta 7 has shields according to the Wiki.

As far as the LAAT/I Gunship, im torn about it needing a buff or even 5 hull as you see them get shredded by just about anything in the movies, but that said, I think would fall into the roll of a Missile Boat (Missile not torpedo people!) As far as the beam weapons, I think should have a special unique way of attacking, that if you manage to "HIT" the enemy with it, it acts as a damage over time of the turn, up to a limit of 4, because it was a constant beam VS a "blast" of a laser cannon. It would give the ship a unique role as a high damage craft, just make it harder to hit with. Maybe 2 dice? Also, any movement after being hit, either to the ship targeted would force you to reroll the attack, If something flys in front of your attack, it COULD hit the new ship if it is in that "same straight line" between LAAT/I Gunship and Original Target,

I like the idea of buffing the Arc-170 a tad more, or creating more unique options for the vessel. I think (no offense to FFG) It was very very limited in its scope, despite the ability to add a crew. Mainly due to the fact that the vessel doesn't have a generic pilot.

There is some. Malachor is a place of ancient significance and what happened there is definitly inspired by the KotoR II finale. Then Darth Bane definitly is canon, although I don't know if he is still counted as "old republic".

the V-Wing looks more heavily armoured than the A-wing or the TIE/in i also feel it's more inclined to barrel roll then boost

the Delta 7 has shields? that surprised me, guess i should bump it up to M3-A levels

The reason why i put a torps slot on the LAAT is mostly for extra munitions but i can see it using torps

i think the cannon upgrade buffs the ARC quite enough, i haven't come up with any pilots yet

Trifighter

Does it really matter though.

I always though off it as noncanon, but old enough to not have a major effect even if it was canon.
