The price of singles?

Please let's not forget that you have another factor in the secondary market and that would be collectors. I see this game being closer to Pokémon then mtg/ygo in that sense. So named characters who are popular could be more and because they are such, they could have appeal to collectors. That could turn out to be a small to non factor, but until the game is out we are doing nothing but speculating.

I would also like to add that I will be buying, selling, and/or trading card and die together and I expect most people to do the same. Even if you don't have any use to that card, it may be useful to someone else. Having the card with the die opens up more options to get rid of it if you so choose.

And no one is going to sell just a die and keep the card they don't want. They come together in the booster, everyone will sell them together.

I must be dense. Say I want to run Elite Phasma. I pull two Phasmas from two booster packs. I now possess 2 Phasma dice and 2 Phasma cards, however I only need 1 Phasma card. How is there not a glut in the market of cards over dice? Granted, you probably wouldn't sell the die without the card, but there will be "extra cards" for this reason (that will probably stay in binders).

The second part is what I'm referring to. No one will sell the dice without the corresponding card. Secondary market or booster pack, you will have several character cards that will never be needed while playing.

Just to play devils advocate on this, a card may have some small value to sell in this case to act as a proxy card for deck experimentation. You can always use a good old D6 and the card, as long as you have a way to establish what card goes with what dice.

That said, I do hope though that the whole includes dice or doesn't include dice, doesn't become an issue of caveat emptor , that then has you having to read the fine print of every ebay sale. That will get people stung and cause far more problems that it would ever be worth.

Why would anyone buy a card but proxy the die? If you are going to use a D6 you might as well just print the card too.

Because, reasons......

Perhaps:

I would be happy enough to pay $1 to avoid having to print and sleeve a card that I am just experimenting with.

I just want the card for a complete collection and while you don't want to part with the elite dice you'll part with the card.

A cunning opponent tipped soda on my card, my dog ate it or a toddler attacked it and I don't need the dice but need the card.

People are not going to be selling cards separate of the corresponding dice. Except people trying to scam others hoping they won't read the small print *does not come with die card only.

Even if they have no use for the 2nd character card there is absolutely no point in selling it. The demand for such a thing is going to be non-existent. More importantly selling just the card means that you've ruined your ability to ever flip your cards if you decide to for whatever reason. Whether it's just moving on to a different deck or exiting the game entirely, you are going to get the most value and make the quickest sale by having 2 separate versions of the given character as opposed to one card with 2 dice.

The only Rare/Legendary cards you'll see for sale alone are promos and the only 2x dice 1x card set up you'll see is Kylo and Rey as that's how the come.

I think you underestimate the scum and villainy element that will try and scam people or just create a vague listing.

I'm not sure how I could be doing that when I specifically mention people doing just that in what you qouted.
