Is Miniature Market Reputable?

By Forresto, in Star Wars: Armada

Sorry for creating two threads where I ask the community a question. Miniature Market is having a Black Friday sale and some Armada is on sale. I've only ever bought Armada, which are the only miniatures i've ever bought, through amazon or from a store. Is this a good store to buy from? And is shipping decent? I would rather not have broken models upon arrival.

I've used them for multiple purchases, Armada included, and I've never had an issue. Shipping is more expensive than amazon prime obvs, and takes longer, but yes, they're reputable.

Yes I've bought from they are great

I've bought from them plenty of times and never had a problem. If you get up to $100 shipping is free.

Watch out for the "free" shipping. It gets put on a slow boat that goes around the world before it will get to you. My last order took over two weeks to arrive and I almost didn't have the list I wanted to run for a local tourney as a result. If you need your order in short order definitely upgrade your shipping. Other than that, I look for specials on MM quite regularly.

That's weird, as the free shipping usually gets to me in 2 days. It's kind of nuts.

But anyways, yes, Minis Market is a fine online store. That and the War Store are the two places I used to buy things from all the time before I found my FLGS.

Thanks I really appreciate all of the answers! I will definitely enjoy the considerably reduced prices on squadron packs then :)

Numerous times. They're free shipping is now FedEx Surepost, final delivery is made by the Post Office. Can't say I've had a delivery take more than three or four days.

Warstore is nice as well, though look out if you're NY like me, you get to pay sales tax as part of the price, same with Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Cool Stuff Inc is great as well, I've ordered from them as well.

I am a huge fan of them. They have great customer service in my experience.

It's pretty great from all accounts that I've heard, but it's a store that really only caters to Americaland. For those of us in the 'Other' category, we have other options as shipping is slow and murderously expensive.

I looked through the current sale and saw all of the Infinity stuff and.....mistakes were made.

I'm a big advocate for buying from your FLGS.

But I haven't heard anything bad about MM.

Though when new releases come around, I'm usually able to get my stuff on pre-order faster than the online retailers are able to get your toys into your hands. Also, my FLGS has 15% off pre-orders, and (effectively) a 4% loyalty discount (X amount free after 25X in purchases).

So there.

But, MM is probably still cheaper if you buy at >=$100 at a time.

I do all my preorders there. They've always shipped promptly, and have had solid customer support.

Miniatures Market have been great for me, they miss packed a Star Wars RPG book and it was damaged. I sent in photos of the box as I opened it, and the damage to the book. They replaced the book, and I didn't have to send the damaged one back.

Wayland Games on the other hand have my ire, both hands and a road map.... it took them a year to make good on an order.

I have never had any issues with Miniature Market. The Warstore on the other had, last time I ordered from them they did a bait and switch, when I called them on it they said that there was nothing they could do but if I sent it back at my expense they would credit my account after taking out a small restocking fee. I will never use them again, and warn anyone who is thinking about using the Warstore as from my experience they are not on the up and up.

I would be too if they did something like that. I'm all up for supporting LGS's buuut not everyone is so fortunate to have a good spot* so MM is a good source. I looked at their return policy and it seems pretty legitimate, and I heard some nice things about their customer support as well. Contacted a close friend Stateside and she said MM was pretty good too, so that's something. But it's not for me, still too pricey because of shipping (and only shipping, but I'm sure there's spots where that's mitigated).

Amanal, ugh, tell me about it. I occasionally have to go there for stuff like P3 inks as nowhere here likes stocking it, and it can take months for simple orders.

*Seriously, FLGS's are great, supporting them is great, but I've got a bad taste with a particular local one that charges a membership fee to get dibs on new stock, and charge more than double some online retailers (seriously, +115% is just not cool) and no tournament support. So I shlep to the other side of the city, get stuff on release day, and then end up making an absurd amount of gaming and hobby related impulse purchases :P MM, Warstore, Cool Inc, none of them enters the equation based strictly on geography. But there are others...

MM can be overwhelmed by unexpected frenzied sales...Their warehouse team are a top notch Cadre of professionals...Never had any problems with anything...Bear in mind everything is on a 1st come 1st served basis...Shipping is what it is no matter getting the free or paying for your own...Epidited shipping is the only exception...

For the record, MM has R&V, Imperial Fighters, Rebel Fighters, and VSD for sale at half price. $10 and $20 each.

This would be perfect for me, if I were in the States...

... If someone stateside was looking at getting some Squadrons Painted, I occasionally take Product at Approx Retail* in lieu of Payment, so if you get things at at half price, that's like making me work for half price!

With the expedited shipping, it once took abut a month and a half for one of my orders to arrive! Otherwise, I have had no complaints, though.

I do all of my regular purchases at my semi-L FGS, but when MM has a massive sale........

I live in Norway and I have bought many diffrent games from MM for many many years.

I am a very satisfied customer. Even with multiple games shipping.

I recommend them highly.

I also can recommend Coolstuffinc.com

I've done several orders and had good results.

Yeah just what I need....max out my credit card on MORE ships.

I've order from them quite a number of times, so I also recommend them. MM, TheWarStore, and CoolstuffInc are my three typical online shops for tabletop stuff.
