The "Have you tried?" thread.

By tsuruki, in X-Wing

The "Have you tried?" that I've been trying to push for a few weeks now. The base build comes out to 38 points.

Etahn A'Baht (32)

- Fire Control System (2)

- R3-A2 (2)

- Snap Shot (2)

Moves at PS5, stresses someone who lands at Range 1 and gets a target lock, then shoots again at range 1 in the combat phase with a target lock and probably a focus, then turns a hit to a Crit. Plus all his buddies get to turn a hit to a crit. For really fun times (and 44 points) add Advanced Proton Torpedos and Guidance Chips to drop a tactical nuke on someone.

Wild Space Fringer (30)

Autobaster Cannon (5)

Zeb (1)

Block aces and melt them. Can throw EU on him for better maneuvering. Have used the build successfully to melt inquisitor and OL, very fun!

---------------

Hera The Ace Hunter

Attack Shuttle Hera (22)

VI (1)

ABT (2)

Navigator (3)

28pts to move after everyone, and not just move, but navigate to any maneuver, then b-roll and ABT aces. EU for another 4pts.

---------------

Attack Shuttle Sabine (21)

Lone Wolf (2)

Finn(5)

28pts for a 4/3/2/2 ship?

---------------

Ezra (20)

PTL (3)

C3PO (3)

Stealth Device (3)

29pts. Evade and focus for action. Call 1 for C3PO when rolling 3 dice. That is 1 evade token, roll 1 evade, plus 1 C3PO, plus any eyeballs. You just shrugged off 3-5 hits.

Zeta Leader - Wired, Weapons Guidance

For 23 points, you're looking at a fighter with PS7, the dial of a TIE interceptor, a shield and a seriously nasty main gun.

Stress yourself for the extra attack die, then spend focus on a blank, and reroll focus results (unless you get 2+ focus, obviously) and you've got about a 70% chance of three hits.

Epsilon Ace - Primed Thrusters

At PS12, it's surprising how annoying even a basic TIE fighter can be.

Ok so this is something I flew to a surprising win last night vs This Inquisitor, Backdraft, and Vessery.

Fenn - concord dawn title, fearlessness (30pts)

Ketsu - shadowcaster title, Degnar, VI (45pts)

Serissu - heavy title, Tractor Beam, Adaptability (23pts)

Leaving the list at 98 for initiative bid

Backdraft left the table without firing a shot, serissu kept the inquisitor out of the fight (and on asteroids) for the first two turns, and Ketsu and Fenn tag-teamed Vessery and finished the inquisitor. Serissu didn't survive the match, and Fenn was on 1 hull due to a lucky Major Explosion, but Ketsu was untouched.

Anyone else had fun with tractor beams?

Wedge Antilles (29).

Push the limit (3).

BB-8 (2).

Integrated astromech (0).

34 points.

I have flown a Wedge similar to this, but with Engine Upgrade instead of Integrated Astromech. It's a bit more expensive but that added maneuverability can be great!

Used the EU PtL BB8 Wedge yesterday, and as always, he did a wonderful job. You just have to be careful this fella doesn't get fired at too often.

Kavil (24).

Veteran Instincts (1).

Autoblaster (2).

Vectored thrusters (2).

Unhinged Astromech (1).

30 Points.

I thought the Y-Wing didn't have a cannon slot and couldn't take the Autoblaster?

Do you mean the Autoblaster turret? That is only a two dice attack, not three.

"No escape Nera"

Nera Dantels (26).

Deadeye (1).

Extra munitions (2).

Flechette torpedoes (2).

Munitions failsafe (1).

The Flechette torpedo and Extra Munitions both cost 2. They not just take two Flechette Torpedoes?
