Roark Garnet and Damaged Cockpit

A quick one:

If one of my ships draws a Damaged Cockpit crit (pilot skill reduced to "0") will Roark Garnet still be able to give him a pilot skill of "12" in the next combat phase?

The most recent PS adjustment is the one that is applied.

Hmm, so if I equip say a green squadron a-wing with the title that allowes an extra EPT and then veteran instincts and adaptability... I totaly wasted VI becouse as so as the ship is deployed and adaptability kicks in it becomes the most recent effect altering the PS of the ship?

PS = 3

Equip VI

PS = 3+2

Deploy ship, adaptability kicks in and lowers or raises PS by one.

VI is no longer the most recent alteration so it doesn't count.

PS = 3 +-1

Debatable.

The argument against would be that you go 3+2=5. Then you go 5+1=6 or 5-1=4, and then you have the most recent change being to 4 or to 6.

But it's only A wings who could do it. And most wouldn't, so it's probably moot.

An FAQ would be needed I think, but I doubt it's important enough to worry.

Adaptability and Veteran Instincts are worded differently than Roark Garnet and Damaged Cockpit.

  • Adaptability gives + or - 1 PS.
  • Veteran Instincts gives +2 PS.
  • Roark Garnet says PS = 12.
  • Damaged Cockpit says PS = 0.

The FAQ does seem to say that you just ignore any previous PS modifiers, which would prevent the VI + Adaptability stacking.
