This is not really a valid stance.
Even though the input of people who have actual done testing is more valuable than that of those who are just speculating, people who have not flown a ship still have the ability to critically analyze things.
...at least, that's my stance, as an outspoken blowhard who has opinions on everything but only ever actually flies a fat Decimator.
I think it is and it isn't.
If you've never run the ship and never run against it, you can't possibly have an objective opinion to critically analyse anything. I only play rebels - so while I can give advice for imperial players as I have flown against them, they and others are in a better position to make a judgement. But I do understand where you're coming from.
Either way, I think Rey has VI (or adaptability), EU, Kanan, Sloop and Finn bolted on to her. Maybe a gunner. Otherwise, you might as well fly Old Han (as in young Han)
