Seismic Torpedos / Flechette Torpedo Conundrum

By Boba Rick, in X-Wing

Heh. I used the word conundrum.

Okay, so I'm running this Ghost (not changing anything here):

Hera Syndulla (57) VCX-100 (40), Fire-Control System (2), Autoblaster Turret (2), Kanan Jarrus (3), Lando Calrissian (3), Experimental Interface (3)

After the rest of my squad is complete I have 4 points left over. So, I have a few torpedo options, and I'm leaning toward Flechette so that I have two shots out the back when I need them. But I could go with a single Flechette and a single Seismic.... but I don't know.

Has anyone found Seismic Torps to be worth it, or are they just for funsies?

I've only had a seismic torp fired at me once and it was with 5 ties in range 1 of the rock. I took 1 damage =\

For a large based ship I would think that seismics would be great. You can break up the opponent's key rock, or if they are trying to outfly you in the rocks you can take one out and stop that. I would rather have options than double up on something that may not even be useful in a game (against two large based ships it will just shoot out the back, not stress)

I wound normally say go with the seismics, but on the VCX-100 - you lose the rear arc if you don't have the Flechettes. Go with those!

Flechettes it is! The others are too situational and I will use the back shots for sure.
