Can't Decide Which List To Take...

By RogueCommander, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

So, I've had consistent success with both of these and am trying to decide which will be more robust in a competitive setting. I'm looking for a bit of distant analysis, because I'm almost to the coin toss stage.

First, Mothma. Tried a Cracken variant, but left feeling like MM was more valuable mitigation.

Fleet created with Armada Warlords

So why is there Spinal on the AF and Gunnery Teams? Seems counter intuitive because their side arc is stronger. Paragon seems like the better choice if you drop GT.

I'd take the B-wing fleet, but that's cuz B-Wings are amazing with Yavaris. Also, you have 2 threats in that fleet and it is unlikely you will go first with a 399 bid so you have a little more control and scare factor.

Where as your Mothma fleet does not have huge threats, and you will likely go second so you might have a hard time against MC30 swarms.

The Guppy in the MM list is a monster (red dice willing) and a nimble 360 degree threat to ships and squads alike. Especially when it drops out of Hyperspace in the middle of a scrum. It's a meat shield that can't be ignored while the TRCs scrape tokens from a distance.

I agree though and am leaning BWings, though I'm worried that with the surge in use due to FC and FCTs there will be a decent amount of squads overall. Dedicated anti squad lists are it's Achilles Heel because they can get hung up and taken out of the fight longer than I'd like.

Well you can be throwing 3 AA dice per turn with Toryn and Yavaris, and get that reroll. I wouldn't be scared of antisquad fleets, and be slightly more aggressive with your ship placement so you threaten with the AA, and if you have to, use Yavaris on the YT to get 8 anti squad dice going.

Practice some AA firing with what you anticipate to run against and see how quickly they burn down.
