Will Scyk fix and other changes lead to further 'fixes'?

Using the Last Resort Button doesn't make it cease to be a Last Resort Button.

As long as it _stays_ the last resort button. I really hope they don't open the floodgates now that they have done this level of tweaking.

One day the +1 Hull will save that day.... BUT THAT DAY IS NOT TODAY...

I think I'm blessed by the Scyk gods, they took a awful lot of fire from TLTs, Poe and a Falcon and dodged every shot...

Well my first game playing with the updated title (5 crackshot TVPs with title) 3 of the 5 scyks ended up at 1 hull and were saved by the title.

But....crack...Tansarii?...why......TIE Fighters.....Howlrunner....6 ships! .....why....and....

Congratulations.

Good times.

It compares better to a-wings than it does to TIE Fighters, though it still loses autothrusters in that comparison :P. Gains a PS over both though :). The lack of howlrunner definitely hurts though.

My main confusion is the list's objective. If offense is the objective, why invest points in extra Hull?

On the other hand, I can see durability being spicy. To that end, maybe Attani Mind link those suckers? Injured ships can take evade and the others can take TL and if you're double modified on attacks, your offensive average might go up to help compensate for the lack of Cracks

I think another elements is that - being brutally honest - I do not expect to see any X-wing product not from one of the new films or tv series from this point on. Which means there was, realistically, no product in which a "fix" card could be delivered. Secondly, the obvious "fix" - a title card - had already been used, leaving them somewhat hands-tied in options.

Being released with the title in box and NO OTHER UPGRADE SLOTS meant it was pretty much DOA.

I had a lot of early success with the cannon Scyk but after a game or two against them most opponents knew to just wipe them from existence and that was that. This extra HP might make a difference, but I think the ability to pair it with other decent small fighters will increase their use more. I think they get better and better when Scum as a faction gets more REAL options.

So, was the mistake that FFG made that Deadeye could go on Large ships or was it giving an EPT to the very cheap generic toilet seat in the first place? I don't remember anyone saying Deadeye was OP before the Humpbastard was a thing. Now how am I gonna fire munitions from my firesprays?!?

The mistake was Deadeye itself.

The mistake was allowing Deadeye and Guidance Chips and Salvaged Astromechs (one of the best token-hoarding upgrade slots in the game) and twin munition slots on a ship that was deliberately specced to be tough yet cheap (by virtue of a weak primary weapon).

I honestly don't even think that everything you listed is too much.

Everything you listed PLUS a stunning dial AND the barrel roll action is like....wow, so like, durable, supremely customizable, capable of massive alpha strikes with ease, AND some of the best blockers in the game? Do they need to do all that other stuff AND be the best blockers in the game? Talk about a ship that had it all. Yowser.

They can be out-flown, but your opponent gets to fly, too. There's no particularly simple answer to dealing with them as far as I can tell.

They're super fun to fly/fly against, though. All my matches involving them have been really close games so far.

It does seem strange to (further) nerf torp scouts by going after Deadeye...let alone in that particular way.

Maybe we'll see the Scurrgs from Armada soon and FFG realized the looming horror of 'WE HEARD YOU LIKE LARGE BASE SCUM ORDNANCE CARRIERS...'

It's not the first time. Look at the Tie Phantom nerf. It's about the same level. So, I think it will only be done in situations like that.

I was thinking that there is still room for a title for a non-heavy Scyk in a future product that involves Scum.

I think these two changes are different. The Phantom nerf was actually a Cloak action nerf. How often do players refer to action rule cards? The Heavy Syck buff on the other hand is on a card that'll be on the table. Not that I'm against the fix just that this is a higher level of change to patch the game.
