Prior to incorporate the fan made "Rogue Squadron" card (free Evade if you are within rng 3 of another Squadron mate) se played very often with my simple fix "give T 65s 2 free points to buy mods, torps or astros".

It worked OK but this title is quite good and more thematic. As my mates and I play 95% of casual games, this little beautys are part of our arsenal.

I had exactly the same idea before, just reduced range to 1-2:

so not only I'd vouch for this title, I'd strongly suggest FFG consider a variation of this title.
