We're about to go beyond the time of episode 6 and I'm debating to myself whether to have the characters carbon froze to the time of ep 7 or use the EU I grew up with. (Luke starts the academy on Yavin as an example)

What do you guys think would be best?

personally I would use the EU up to thrawn's death and merge it after that point with nu canon. Which eliminates the Vong and Swarm Wars from the time-line, but I certainly can live with that. Maybe ignore Dark Empire too, just like Zahn did ;-)

Oh god I forgot the vong existed at one point. Yeah I'd never include them not even if I do use the EU lol
