Is there a max squad points to NOT go over for a soontir / palp squad?

whats the average dengaroo cost?

is 99 fairly safe for fel/palp? never more than 98?

and so forth and such

If you are serious about taking an initiative bid you should probably shoot for around 97 points. Dengaroo can come in at 96 without having to make much in the way of sacrifices if they think it's important.

My whinging aside, WWHSD is quite correct. If you're not comfortable moving second with Fel, then you should go big or switch ships.

Yes, I should have had "moving first" there. ^_^

I usually shoot for 2 with ace lists if I'm consciously putting one in. 3 points usually buys a more important upgrade and moving second isn't an auto loss in my opinion so it's not worth hurting over.

Drop the stealth device for a targeting computer, you might kill a defender that way.

99: you choose initiative against anyone who doesn't care and a couple who do.

98: you've got a solid chance to choose initiative against anyone.

97: you're all but guaranteed to choose initiative.

96: yeah . . . your call.

I wouldn't generally go lower than 98, though -- maybe 97, but that's pushing it. That's for two reasons: first, it's because you could be spending those points on something useful in every game. I mean, a four-point bid could be a Sensor Jammer on Palpatine; and that could come in real handy. But I also hesitate to go that low because it means that your squad has a weakness that's crippling enough for you to toss points out the window. At that point, I tend to rethink the squadron -- because what happens if you run into PS 11 Poe? or PS 10 Wes? If moving second is that important, the squad probably won't hold up.

Definitely not trying to stay at 96. I'm actually just not sure what to do with points yet.

I expect wampa to die first so maybe drop the crackshot and get wampa a stealth device.

Regarding p.s. for fel...I think based on above suggestions I'd be happy with 98-99.

Although, I suppose for learning the way a list like this plays I mightbas well NOT reinvent the wheel and just take the inquisitor.

We always say in our group that Fel is a 36 point ship (but we mostly run Targeting Computer instead of Stealth Device). That 2 point bid is important, but I wouldn't go below 98. Like others have said, at that point your missing out on other upgrades that are good EVERY game.
